PROJECT: MSHEIREB DOWN TOWN DOHA (QATAR)

Project Description: A QR 20billion (US $ 5.5 billion) development, Msheireb is a planned complex in downtown Doha, Qatar when completed, will be the world’s largest collection of LEED certified buildings. The 31 hectares (76 Acres, 310,000square meters) Msheireb Downtown is mixed-use development will comprise more than 100 buildings, with a combination of commercial & residential properties, retail, cultural and entertainment areas.

All buildings within the development will target as average Gold rating under the internationally recognized LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification system developed by the US Green Building Council, while several buildings will aim for a Platinum rating. Project Phase 1B: Contract valued at QR2.37 billion ($650.7million) of which MEP works valued QR 530 million comprises 15 buildings, including the country’s first Mandarin Oriental Hotel consisting of 158 rooms and 91 serviced apartments, two office buildings with 52 retail units,12 residential buildings and a mosque providing a total of 180 apartments

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitoring the cost of site resources and Construction activities as per project approved drawings

Inspection of completed works & delivery of materials, sure that Quality of works is as per Project /Contract specifications.

Co-ordinate with concerned parties to resolve routine site issues and refer technical queries to concerned department.

To advice on any impact on services caused by Architectural changes and raise Query to MEP Manager & Consultant

Coordinating with Electrical services and ELV (FAS, FPS, BMS and Lighting) systems,

Coordinate with Interior Design and Fit out Drawings,Complete coordination to ensure that the Access Control System and CCTV contractor will be able to commission the system

Responsible for installation of conduits, cable ladders, cable trays, security systems like CCTV, Access control systems, Fire Alarm, Fire protection and building management systems (BMS)

Ensure the design reflects project cost targets set by the Commercial team.

Assisting and coordinating the drafting team for Shop drawings, Redline and As-Built drawings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate the MEP design and execution between design office and contractors/subcontractors

Review shop drawing prior to submittal for service co-ordination and co-ordination with other construction elements.

Studying the drawing for identifying the loopholes in design as per the design requirements and site conditions and coordination with other services.

Duct design as per SMACNA standards, selection of grills and diffusers as per noise criteria and acceptable velocity range.

Fresh and exhaust flow calculation, car park ventilation system design and calculation.

Estimating of hot water demand, and selection and sizing of Electric water heater.

Designing of underground water tank, overhead tanks and fire water volume sizing. FM 200 system design and selection.

Designing of wet and dry riser ( Fire Fighting ) water distribution and pipe sizing.
