ACADEMIC PROJECTS:

Development of Ignition switch-based Automated Hand Brake Mechanism Aug 16 - Apr 17

The project involved Ignition switch-based automatic actuation of hand brakes which is operated by a pneumatic cylinder.

Performed the design calculations of the brake lever and selected a pneumatic cylinder for the required braking load.

An electrical sensor was used to detect ignition status which would actuate the Directional Control Valve in the system to supply compressed air to the pneumatic cylinder.

The pneumatic cylinder would then engage and disengage the braking mechanism. Production of compressed air using vehicle suspension system Oct 13 - Apr 14

An alternate vehicle suspension system was built with the objective of producing compressed air.

The suspension bars were replaced by piston-cylinder systems stiffened by springs to give suspension effect and ultimately produce compressed air.

The piston-cylinders were selected to compensate for the load requirements of the replaced suspension bars.

The project won second prize in a university-level project competition in April 2014. SOFTWARE SKILLS:
