Job Description:-

1. Put policies and procedures for infection control situation in line with the Ministry of Health standards and international standards and their application and distribution of various departments at the hospital and updated from time to time.

2. Organization and Management Department activities in accordance with the regulations of the hospital.

3. Develop a system to monitor infection acquired in the hospital and follow-up. 4. Participating as a member of the Medical Council in the general policy of the hospital and to express an opinion on technical infection control in which mode.

5. Supervise the training of hospital staff on the rules of infection control on a continuous basis.

6. Review the performance of doctors within the department and assessed in terms of the application of the rules of infection control. 7. Develop an annual plan for infection control within the hospital. 8. Performance measurement to combat hospital infections and raise on results reporting and statistics so indicators with suggestions for solutions or opportunities for improvement of performance.

9. Develop training and educational plan for employees to systematically and continuously throughout the year on all aspects of infection control and supervision of the implementation of the plan.

10. Supervise the preparation of the monthly statistics for the fight against hospital infection rates.

11. Display of periodic reports and monthly statistics on the director of the hospital and infection control committee and leaders of hospitals. 12. Post the hospital management and nursing services in the application of infection control rules.

13. Develop job description of employees in the department. 14. An active member in the specialized committees at the hospital (or his representative).

Job Description:-

1. Develop short and long-term goals for the entire nursing department. 2. Establish new policies and update existing policies to improve the standard of care for patients.

3. Develop, maintain, and implement nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.

4. Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitor staff practices and implementation.

5. Plan and oversee admission, nursing, and patient care processes. 6. Maintain department budgets and record all expenses. 7. Maintaining high standards of care.

8. Oversee all record-keeping processes and ensure all necessary documents are accurate and up-to-date.

9. Evaluate the work performance of all nursing personnel, assist in the determination of wage increases, and implement discipline according to operational policies.

10. Participate in all admission decisions, and may visit prospective patients before admission.

11. Participate in daily or weekly management team meetings to discuss patient status, census changes, personnel, or patient complaints or concerns.

15. Collaborate with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems.

18. Participate in the recruitment and selection of nursing personnel and assures sufficient staff are hired.

19. Oversee and supervises development and delivery of in-service education to nursing staff with sufficient knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, quality care and respect for patient rights. 20. Proactively develop positive employee relations, incentives, and recognition programs.

21. Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication. 22. Perform rounds to observe care and to interview staff, patients, families or other interested parties.

23. Monitor staff for compliance with OSHA mandates and facility policies on workplace safety.

24. Establish, implement, and monitor the infection control program designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment designed to prevent transmission of disease and infection. 6

25. Prepare or review infection control surveillance reports to identify trends and to develop effective actions to control and prevent infections.

26. Coordinate and/or develop on-going QA activities for nursing services to monitor nursing compliance with standards and regulatory requirements through rounds, interviews, and record reviews. Compiles summary of findings for the Quality Assurance committee. 27. Participate in budget development for the nursing department, and for medical, nursing, and central supplies. Assures nursing staff properly charges out ancillaries used.

28. Help the Administrator prepare staff for inspection surveys, instructing staff on matters of conduct and disclosure, being interviewed by inspectors, immediate corrections of problems noted by surveyors, etc.

29. Participate in the preparation of the Plan of Correction response to an inspection survey, and implement any follow-up QA required for any nursing allegations.

30. Communicate directly with patients, families, medical staff, nursing staff, interdisciplinary team members, and department Heads to coordinate care and services, promote participation in care plans, and maintain a high quality of care and life for patients. 31. Promote customer service and hospitality and respond to and adequately resolves complaints or concerns from patients or families about nursing services.

32. Monitor facility incidents and complaints daily to identify those defined as unusual occurrences by hospital’s policy and promptly reports such occurrences to Administrator/Executive Director for appropriate action.

33. Promote compliance with accident prevention procedures, safety rules, and safe work practices to prevent employee injury and illness and control worker’s compensation costs.

34. Assure staff is trained in fire and disaster and other emergency procedures, and evaluates performance during drills.
