Duties involved managing stock, meeting and greeting customers, plus dealing with their enquiries, maintaining welfare and hygiene, and ordering stock.

There was a strong emphasis on health and safety, customer care and satisfaction. I learnt about working both on my own and with others, working calmly under pressure, and greatly improved my communication skills. I had to use my own initiative and be able to handle stressful situations.
