Advanced Footstep Power Generation System MITS

The concept of harvesting renewable energy in human surrounding arouses a renewed interest. This project focuses on one such advanced method of energy harvesting using piezoelectric material. Piezoelectric materials can be used as mechanisms to transfer mechanical energy, usually ambient vibration, into electrical energy that can be stored and used to power other devices.

This embedded device in the footpath, can convert foot impact energy into electrical form and stored in batteries. The stored energy source used to RFID reader to read RFID tags. This application can also use in streetlights, remote locations and emergency power generation station.

Materials used is PIC micro controller, piezoelectric sensors, LCD display, RFID reader, RFID tags and battery for store energy.

Arduino Based Automatic Dual Axis Solar Tracker MITS 1 MONTH

Team of 4 members.

This project based on tracking solar energy. This device plays a major role in turning the solar panels according to sun light direction and increasing adsorption of solar energy during the day light timing. This device can follow the trajectory of sun light energy throughout the day. The control circuit is implemented by the microcontroller. The control circuit then positions the motor that is used to orient the solar panel optimally. System is designed that tracks the solar UV light for solar panels and increases the efficiency solar panel outputs. The range of increase in efficiency is approximately between 30 and 40 percent.
