Underground

●Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical systems and components of machinery and equipment

●Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes

●Perform repairs to mining equipment such as drills, fans and pumps

●Assist and carry out repairs and maintenance on all underground substations

●Troubleshoot trailing cables and ground monitoring systems

●Identify recurring problems and document so that engineered solutions can be provided

Mill

●Support the commission and start up activities through the engineering, construction and operational phases of the mine site

●Inspect, isolate, troubleshoot and repair all electrical components related to the successful running of power on the mine

●Strong understanding of PLC control systems,

●Familiar with Schneider programming software

●Knowledge of 4160V and 600V power distribution systems, as well as 600V motor control centers and variable frequency drives

●Maintain, troubleshoot and repair VFD’s, AC/DC drives and soft starters

●Perform calibrations on process instruments

●Experience with HART devices and communicators

●Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers’ specifications

●Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation (calibration, replacement, and tests as required); maintain field instrument records and standards

●Perform preventative maintenance on required equipment

●Read schematics and troubleshoot electrical circuits

●Capable of doing all hands-on work within the electrical trade for general installations in industrial operation

●Managing small to mid-size projects, interfacing with other departments

●Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices

●Perform loop checking and loop simulation on various process control instruments to ensure the correct tagging, ranges, and alarm trip setting

●Test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, and regulators

●Simulation of motor control panels to ensure that the control circuit is properly working as per client requirement

●Sequence checks of motors and pumps

●Conduct no-load and load run test of HV and LV motors and monitor motor integrity

●Loop verification of all instruments

●Inspection and testing of plant earthing system and its respective electrodes, using earth/ground tester and earth/ground clamp

●Compile commission report data

QA/QC

●Execute specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site

●Issue the relevant quality records and, when necessary, writes and sends to QC supervisor non-conformance reports

●Checks cable laying and identification

●Redline and update as built drawings

●Perform punch-listing operations

●Check installation of instruments

●Conduct point-to-point wire checking between field control instrument and field junction boxes and between field junction boxes and marshalling cabinets prior to loop energization

●Perform tests of continuity, insulation resistance

●Witness the tests, controls and inspections carried out

●Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes

Construction

●Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations

●Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, lighting fixtures and other electrical components

●Installation of generator sets for emergency backup power systems

●Gland cables into MCC buckets, terminate switchgear, VFDs, motors

●Install UPS battery banks and rectifiers

●Test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems

●Install industrial instrumentation and related devices

●Gland and terminate PCS and SIS control systems, JB’s and instruments

●Perform walk downs on heat trace systems, troubleshoot and program heat trace controllers

●Install SR and MI heat trace on pipes, terminate power kits, JB’s and EHT controllers
