SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
Presenter, College of Science Research Conference
The University of Texas at San Antonio
Anisotropic Gold Nanoparticles for Blood Glucose Monitoring in Diabetes: To synthesize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with catalytic properties toward the oxidation of glucose at physiological pH 7.40 in order to develop non-enzymatic glucose sensors. This increases the probability of having the low-index gold planes for the rapid electro oxidation of glucose. The irregular shapes of AuNPs can be formed by selectively blocking the growth of crystallographic planes with surface-active compounds during the synthesis.
