I am a professional engineering manager with over 15 years’ experience spread across Power Generation and Energy, Mineral Smelting and Metal Refinery operations, Cement manufacturing, Sugar and Bioenergy sectors. SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• At Zambia Sugar, I lead the project to replace old centrifugal machines with new ones in the refinery and improved production to about 40%.
• Led a team of Electrical Engineers to commission a 2000T/Day greensfield Cement plant after overseeing the construction and undertaking design reviews and quality control of the project.
• Led an Engineering Services team to turn around 6000Ha sugar cane agricultural estate to produce average yields of 75Ton/Ha from the previous 30Ton/Ha through provisional of quality irrigation services.
• At Addax bioenergy in Sierra Leone, reporting to General Manager as Electrical Engineer, I led the technology team responsible for preparing the company’s computerized maintenance management systems and defined the business continuity concepts for factory operations for the bioenergy factory in Sierra Leone. I successfully completed designs and participated in Factory Assessment Tests for Addax Bioenergy’s bio-ethanol and ‘green’ Electricity plant.
• At Chambishi Metals plc, reporting to the General Manager, I was appointed Leader of a committee for Cost Control and Cost reduction. I managed and controlled cost of maintenance and repairs for the Mine and achieved 30% savings from budget in three months. I also successfully rolled out and completed phase one of the energy management system by buying energy saver lighting and ensuring that the power factor facility became functional.
• As HOD-Electrical while leading Process Metallurgists, Mechanical Engineers and Electrical Engineers at Chambishi Metals, I successfully headed the Copper tank house Transformer and Rectifier upgrade that lead to 20% Increased production. I also successfully headed Cobalt tank house Transformer and Rectifier upgrade resulting in 40% increased production.
• Led the selection and technology of state-of-the-art electrical safety protection gear at Zambia Sugar PLC which led to achieving a safety improvement score on NOSA scale from 60% to 85%. The safe personal protection gear was also successfully implemented at Chambishi Metals plc
