Controls Engineer

Designing Electrical Systems for Integrated Turnkey plants, Gas Compression and Processing solutions using Reciprocating and Screw Compressors, Refrigeration Compressors and Gas Process packages. Develop and configure program logic controllers (PLCs) and human machine interfaces (HMIs) from start to finish for any different types of Compressor packages and Gas Processing packages. I made few trips to the customer sites to support the startup and commissioning activities.

PLC Logic Development: Provided PLC solutions based on the customer requirement in an efficient manner by optimize performance and reducing down time for troubleshooting.

HMI Development: Build FTView HMI using the Factory Talk View Studio global object library and build the screens as per the customer requirements.

Control Systems Engineer

Collaborate with a team of engineers for a $200M project for a Russian company to develop and configure program logic controllers (PLCs) and human machine interfaces (HMIs) to upgrade existing pump stations, add 10 new stations, and expand the tank farm with an additional 6 tanks for an oil transportation pipeline in Russia and Kazakhstan. I made a numerous trips to the pump station sites in Russian Federation and Kazakhstan Republic to support the startup and commissioning activities.

PLC Logic Development: Create add-on instructions to optimize performance, reduce troubleshooting time, and standardize the code, providing key contributions to the development and configuration of PLC logic to operate the pump station for a 1000-mile crude oil pipeline.

HMI Development: Build fully functional ArchestrA Galaxy and HMI features including alarms, screens, and trends in alignment with piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs).

Modbus Communication Modules: Collaborate on the implementation and monitoring of ProSoft and other communication modules.

PLC & HMI Implementation Lifecycle: Instrumental in successful design and execution of PLC and HMI across design, setup, troubleshooting, factory acceptance testing, startup commissioning and maintenance.

Estimating: Evaluating the new design changes and estimating the number of man hours required to implement the changes in HMI and PLC programming.

Control Narratives: Develop and modify/ standardize the Control Narratives on how to operate the pump stations.

Database Development: Create and manage databases supporting PLC, HMI, and SCADA. Develop macros and scripts to convert the SCADA database to generate PLC and HMI databases, improving efficiency across project changes.

Onsite Support: Frequently travel to customer sites in Russian Federation and Kazakhstan to perform I/O loop checks, Cutover of existing pump stations and Commissioning/Startup support for new pump stations.

Training Support: Conduct training for the Operators on how to operate and maintain the new HMI system in Russia and Kazakhstan.

I/O Loop Checks: Travelled to the customer location to conducted loop checks on the Allen-Bradley PLC 5 which controls the LACT units on the oil transportation pipeline in North Dakota.
