Troubleshooting, breaking down complicated technical problems and repairing mechanical and electronic parts.

Upgrading systems required on certain machines and equipment.

Capability to brainstorm technical solutions subsequently after the unsuccessful pursuits of corresponding some mother company’s technical engineers who were specially flown to the site for these purposes.

Capability to repair, on the components level, some of the machinery parts; electronic boards, hydraulic pump deemed by the corresponding mother company’s technical engineers to be replaced with brand new.

Fundamental understanding of electronics, circuit boards.

Understanding and experience of X-Ray machines: mobile, basic, Fluoro, mammography, dental panoramic, Cath lab, Bone densitometer, CT scanner and C-Arm. Installed and repaired machines from Picker, Toshiba, Apelem, Villa, Ecoray, GMM, DDD, GMI and Hologic. Performed repairs on control boards, motor drivers, high voltage generators, power supplies and internal components…

Fundamental understanding and demonstrated experience repairing and installing automated X-ray Film processors from Agfa, Kodak and Protec.

High experience in installing ad repairing ultrasound equipment; with the following brands HP, Toshiba, BK, Alpinion, Chison and Edan.

Aligned mechanics of a DOA Agfa imager machine, I had to work hard on aligning the mechanics of the 3 axis of its 3 motors xyz. These alignments are only set at the factory but I was able to manage realigning them.

Installation, setup and repair of Gamma Cameras replacing DOA Photo Multiplier Tubes (PMTs).

Strong experience identifying faults and repairing radiotherapy equipment including Portal Vision Devices (PV), On Board Imaging OBI, and Multi Leaf Collimators. Repairs were also performed on pumps, valves, micro motors, flow detectors, and integrated circuit logic electronics.

Strong troubleshooting skills working with UPS manufactured by Emerson and Elgar. Repairs were made on high and low power electronics.

Surgical Leica microscope repair for ophthalmic, neuro surgery and ENT applications.

Installation and repair of OR equipment to include Cobe open heart equipment, (pumps and heart-lung machines), Trumph electrical operating tables, OR medical illumination lighting, pendants from Trumph, Uzumku and Ondal, and equipment such as ultrasonic disinfectors.

Troubleshot and repaired very old patient monitoring systems, including standalone and central station from HP by repairing electronics up to components level.

Calibration and preventative maintenance service on all types of equipment.

Worked on some lab equipment, centrifuges, balances, shakers, fridges, freezers, ovens, incubators, warmers, distillers and laboratory dish washers. Repaired machines from Jouan, Liehbert, and Ohaus…

Supported legacy systems from GA (General Automation) including computers, old tape recorders and Printronix printers.

Responsible for maintaining the operation of the mechanical, electrical and optical labs equipment for the Lebanese University faculty of engineering labs.

Understanding of hospital settings, instruments in hospitals, deployment of machines in hospitals and clinical labs. Extensive knowledge of procedures for installation and repairs in clinical and hospital labs.

Flexibility in travelling abroad to support sites (installation repair and maintenance).

Career Highlights

Encountered complicated repairs in several circumstances, to name a few:

Repaired a Picker X-ray machine that had been previously struck by lightning.

Repaired an old GMM X-ray machine that had been installed and maintained by previous agent, deemed non repairable, by replacing individual components, relays and power contactors…

Repaired an old Villa X-ray machine that had been installed and maintained by previous agent, deemed to replace the CPU board, by replacing some ICs.

Repaired a Toshiba X-ray generator, condemned by Toshiba Japan to replace the CPU board, by also replacing some components.

Repaired a newly installed X-ray table that was moving randomly without any prior command. Troubleshot three problems that were repaired simultaneously; mechanical, electrical and electronic problem.

Invented and installed a custom made circuit board as a replacement for a big power chip that was not functioning in a mobile X-ray machine.

Interconnecting via emails (WhatsApp) with Mother Companyies’ specialist engineers abroad in order to brainstorm together solutions for abnormal and very rare complications.

Projects

Technical Project Manager (starting 1997)

Accomplished several successful turnkey projects and is working on others still in progress. This occupation requires pre-organization, team leading, co-ordination and supervision skills. It nevertheless includes installation of equipment; to be brief the overall process is: reception, checking BOQ and items status, delivery to consultant, distribution according to room list, installation, commissioning and training, and most importantly, all within preset time frames. Not to mention that most projects include the supervision and direction of third parties in other fields of work such as plumbers, electricians, subcontractors and other technicians whose work necessarily preceded commencing the projects.

An overview of accomplished and current projects (starting from the most recent):

United Nations (UN) around all over Lebanon (2020–currently): Project with UNHCR and UN in 32 hospitals for installing patient and ICU beds, ventilators, Fibro bronchoscopes, ultra sounds,….

Africa – Abidjan (2019) Support for Caretek branch for starting up its technical department in Abidjan.

Nothern Lebanon – Andket Military Barrack (caserna) (2012): Installation of an X–Ray machine and film developer.

Southern Lebanon – Rmeish Governmental Hospital (2012): Turnkey project which included all the medical equipment for the departments as well as furnishings.

Southern Lebanon Tebnine Governmental Hospital (2011): Turnkey project which included different medical equipment in the following departments: OR, labs, anesthesia, X-ray and developers, monitoring. It also included appliances such as fridges and freezers as well as furniture

Southern Lebanon Jezzine Governmental Hospital (2010), supervising and installing mechanical electrical fluid optical labs and workshop machinery (lathe).

Beirut Governmental Hospital Project No.II (2005): Installed the medical equipment, constituted mostly of: Several microscopes (Surgical and Lab), X-Ray equipment, lab and research lab equipment and a variety of balances (200gr to 500kg).

Four turnkey Lebanese Governmental Hospitals; Tripoli, Daher El Bashek, Kaber Eshmoun, Baalbak. (2003) Beginning with equipment (syringe pumps, infusion pumps, etc..) and ending up with furniture (Bed burnt, ICE beds, Patient beds, Delivery beds etc…).

Beirut Governmental Hospital Project No.I (2001): Turnkey project which included dental equipment, and furniture and appliances.

Ten turnkey Lebanese Governmental Hospitals; Tannourine, Rashaya, Bar Elias, Chmestar, Kartaba, Deir El Ahmar, Nabi Cheet, Akkar, Aarsal. (1997) these projects included equipping and installing from A to Z all of the lab equipment, radiology equipment, sterilization, freezers, fridges, beds, hospital furniture, laundry machines, etc…

Five Governmental Hospitals in Algeria (1997): These projects particularly constituted the installation, set up and repairs for ultrasound machines.

Training Overview:

Acquired a Master’s Degree at the academic level, and complemented it with the appropriate technical background knowledge that was achieved by attending numerous trainings abroad, and subsequently earned the title of the impeccably skilled technician.
