Environmental Project Manager Senior Geologist Adjunct Geology Instructor

MS Level Educated Environmental Project Manager and licensed Senior Geologist, with extensive experience in the environmental industry. Environmental consulting experience includes planning, budgeting, conducting and managing Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III Environmental Site Assessments with an eye towards achieving client objectives at or under budget. Operations included three lines of soil vapor survey points; the collection and analysis of surface geology and ground water samples for a wide variety of potential contaminants; the utilization of geotechnical soil borings to collect environmental data; and interviews of business owners in the area of concern.

·Data Analysis. Skilled in the collection and analysis of data collected for projects. Demonstrated plume stabilization or decrease using Mann-Kendall test at a chlorinated solvent site. Gathered, analyzed, and calibrated geology data from over 700 soil borings and monitor wells at a large chemical plant to produce a coherent presentation of the plant’s subsurface geology.

·Site Assessment. Deep knowledge and experience of site assessment methodology for a wide variety of site impacts. Sites were impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, PCBs, pesticides, inorganic chemicals, and heavy metals at industrial, commercial, institutional, military, and residential sites in fifteen states.

·Relationship Building and Partnering. Very adept at team building and forming a team consensus to accomplish a goal and achieve desired results. Consulted experienced vendors familiar with subsurface conditions at new sites. Obtained information from contractors to better implement site operations. Consulted with regulatory personnel to develop consensual approaches to site assessments and corrective actions.

Oversaw the excavation of a shutdown service station wherein excavation decisions were made based on data collected in real time and the excavation of unforeseen conditions and materials required on-the-fly changes in remedial operations. Oversaw the removal of a set of USTs that uncovered three more sets of USTs that were in place and their presence unknown. Arranged for the disposal of storm water from a heavy rainstorm that flooded a large UST pit. Arrangements included obtaining permission from the local water treatment plant to pump water from the pit into the sanitary sewer instead of disposal to a fuel recycling facility.

• Program Manager of Phase I and Phase II Due Diligence site assessments for a nation-wide homebuilder. Coordinated company assets to conduct site assessments and provided trouble shooting to address client concerns. Increased the geographical area of Due Diligence coverage for the client by adding new offices to the network of providers.

• Provided support to the environmental department of a large international airport to include conducting Phase I Due Diligence site assessments prior to leasing airport land to commercial entities. Conducted Phase II assessments in preparation for commercial development of airport land. Conducted Phase II field operations in support of remediation activities conducted by the airport.

• Provided support to the office geotechnical department by conferring and collaborating with geotechnical personnel in the planning and conductance of geotechnical projects as well as providing field support for a long-term geotechnical soil boring projects prior to site design.
