Sr. Systems Engineer
Provided leadership to local administrators at remote sites. Managed the on premises and cloud infrastructure for the training department. Performed facility audits as needed. Supported users and applications.
•Packaged and maintained RPM’s used worldwide and maintained multiple Red Hat clusters.
•Provided remote systems administration, installation and user support, installation and ongoing maintenance for Western GECO’s 25+ seismic vessel fleet at sea and 10+ International computing centers along with Land crews.
•Configuration of Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches.
•US subject matter expert for Hitachi multi-petabyte storage systems used for running Omega seismic processing.
•Traveled internationally to support sites and ships as needed.
•Project management and team logistics for numerous processing hardware system upgrade projects onboard vessels in port domestically and internationally and in foreign data centers with tight time frames and numerous logistical challenges. Project values ranged from .5 million up to 4 million.
•Identified and changed the processing worldwide to account for bottleneck in the cluster resulting in a 30% increase in processing throughput. Published internal whitepaper on load balancing and scheduling.
