PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Supervisory IT Specialist

2018 to Currently Employed: Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Department of the Army, Fort Campbell, KY

Functions as IT Director for DFMWR. Responsible for all technology needs for 67 soldier support and family support facilities on post at Fort Campbell KY. This includes computer hardware, software, peripherals, audio/visual, network/internet connectivity, telephones, point of sale equipment and user accounts.

Regularly interfaces with Department of Army, Department of Defense and other Federal entities in maintaining computer and network security within DFMWR.

Leads the Congressional FISMA initiative to bring all DFMWR into compliance with IMCOM and DOA/DOD technology requirements.

Functions as liaison between DFMWR, Department of Public Works and the Regional Network Enterprise Center for IT related portions of construction and remodel projects.

Responsible for all technology purchases within DFMWR.

Supervises, schedules, evaluates and develops multiple full time staff members.

Liaises with other branches of DFMWR in developing and planning special events for soldiers and their families.

Responsible for building Austin Peay State University’s Help Desk from a three person computer repair operation into a Technology Service Desk that employs 15 people who address all the technology needs of the campus community ranging from computer hardware and software, peripherals, training, classroom audio/visual equipment and special projects, to custom designing technology solutions for any University need.

Functioned as liaison between campus technology stakeholders and the Office of Information Technology (OIT) in technology planning and execution of all current and future projects.

Responsible for approval of all computer hardware, audio/visual and some software purchases for multiple campuses.

Manages the production of scripts and standardized procedures for seven day a week Tier One Service Desk/Help Desk functionality.

Supervises, schedules, evaluates and develops multiple full time staff members and student workers. Some staff members have been in my employ for 12 years, citing my influence as reason for their longevity.

Interfaced with University Physical Plant to insure safety and usability of new and refurbished student use facilities.

Designed and implemented a standardized classroom audio/visual solution that saved the University $7000 per classroom upgrade.

Regularly interfaces with stakeholders in planning and executing the standardization, maintenance and replacement of nearly 3000 administrative, faculty, and academic computers, and assorted peripherals on multiple APSU campuses.

Fosters collaboration with campus stakeholders on the subject of software licensing and configuration of software, assisting academic and administrative testing and selection of new software.

Constantly works with other divisions of OIT in strategic planning and execution of immediate and future needs of the division and campus community.

Instrumental in construction of APSU Disaster Recovery Plan.
