The function/duties of CBHC (Community Behavioral Health Clinicians within the JJS (Juvenile Justice Services) is to co-ordinate “clinical information” and recommend appropriate clinical responses regarding the needs of those adjudicated juvenile offenders, which allows decisions to be made towards appropriate services within and without community service bases. To perform Enhanced/Comprehensive clinical assessments inclusive of instruments such as Maysi-2 and Sassi-2 and incorporate collateral clinical documentation for a comprehensive perspective of each client’s psycho-social landscape.

In addition, to follow each client during “out of home” placements to ensure appropriate service goals and objectives; partake in monthly MDTs and the discharge process and obtain and provide “after-care” recommendations regarding “step-down” services. This often involves collaboration with MCOs and Hospitals, as well as the relevant RTC placements prior to and following placements.

Participate and be the clinical lead on internal “staffings”, collaborate and provide clinical information prior to acceptance into YDDC (secure placements).

Further duties include Family Centered Meetings with families, MCOs, JPOs and any relevant personnel, such as Protective Services (where there is a joint “open” case with both CYFD divisions).

Continued participation in “skills upgrading programs”, pertinent conferences and internal trainings.

Naturally continued documentation of many forms that are required for all assigned cases.

Additionally I was and currently am the Independent Contractor to Roswell District Court as Instructor of the PAC Program delivered to divorced parents to ensure that children might avoiding being the victims of divorce.

Esoteric knowledge of Native American cultures. Worked closely with Native Elders and Medicine Men in developing culturally sensitive treatment options, in particular those oriented at Substance/Etoh Abuse. Along with other NationsWorked predominantly with the Ojibwee and Mohawk Nations in Canada. In the U.S. I continued my work with Pima and Apache Nations predominantly in different capacities. I was the sole Behavioral Health Clinician in the isolated Cibeque section of the White River Apache reservation, as mentioned previously. Continue to attend several ceremonies and meeting with Native elders.

Currently, I provide a 4 hr. Cultural Diversity presentation each year at the New Mexico Addiction Education Network’s Annual Conference.

While in Europe, I travelled to Afghanistan, Turkey, India, Israel, Northern Africa, as well as most European countries, which provided a solid foundation for later studies in cultural diversity and Sociology itself.

Became a Permanent resident of the United States in 1993, prior to that have been involved with a number of Social service agencies in Canada.

Also was CEO and Managing Director of Audvicon Associates in Toronto Canada for six years.
