Seeking Engineering Geologist Position in Geotechnical Investigation with reputed organization

Professional Synopsis

Overall experience around 6 years in Geotechnical division held in various positions as an Engineering Geologist & Site Coordinator involved in Material Testing, Co-ordination of laboratory & Field tests and Preparation of factual reports etc. Liaise with Client and Consultants for the various technical aspects of the project and also taking independent charge of Site in- charge including supervising and monitoring of different method of advanced drilling technology, Identification of rock composition under microscope through thin section, Preparation of Borehole

& Trial pit logs as per BS & ASTM Standards. Field testing which includes Pressure meter Test, Cross-Hole Test, Down-Hole Test, CPT, Packer Test (Single & Double Method), Earth resistivity test, in-situ CBR Test, Plate Load Test, in-situ density test and Permeability test & all the regular laboratory testing of soil and rock classification and engineering analysis of tests, etc., and systematic maintenance of all the records.

Job Profile Summary

Reviews specifications, code of practice, standards etc, and necessary to conduct technical studies & carryout project design and permitting work.

Responsibility of establishing and adjusting work procedures to meet project schedules.

Addresses Request for Information (RFI) from contractors related to design issues.

Executing drilling, sampling, in-situ testing and laboratory reports.

Preparing, Borehole & Trial Pit logs.

Gathering all the technical information from site & lab to prepare the draft report.

Responsibility of implementing standard HSE Policy at site.

Assisting & discussing for technical support to the Engineering team to evaluate the technical report.

Liaise with Client & Consultants to fulfill the various technical requirements as per the Scope of work.

The Position reports to Senior Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibility of Implementation, Co-ordination, and completion of projects as per Time Schedule.

Reviews specifications, code of practice, standards etc., and necessary to conduct technical studies & carryout project design and permitting work.

Monitoring & Supervising of Geotechnical field activities, in-situ testing and laboratory testing.

Co-ordinates and work with the project engineers and site engineer

Follow up and supervising all day to day activities related soil investigation.

Making Geological / Geotechnical description for soil and rock samples obtained from the boreholes and trial pits and finalizing the final logs as per BS & ASTM standards

Drilling for Engineering and Mining (Coring in Rock as TCR, SCR, RQD, Auger, Wash Boring, Percussion etc).

Following up the handling and storage of the quality control of the method of arrangement for the received samples from the drillers and referring to the project specification and requirements

Data inputting and borehole log preparation in gINT software.

Interpretation of lab results

Site supervision and interpretation of Dynamic Cone Penetration Test, CPT Test, Cross- hole Test, Down hole Seismic Test, Electrical Resistivity Test, Pressure meter, Percolation test and Permeability test.

Preparation of laboratory test schedule based on client requirements and selection of sample for the test based on standard requirement.

Coordination with online testing laboratory for all the test results to be included in the final report.

Preparation of field report and factual.

Jan' 2014 – May 2014 with Capital Survey, Abu dhabi as Engineering Geologist. The Position reports to Senior Geo-Technical Engineer. Key Responsibilities:

Observation and description of Rock and Soil Samples.

To check the proper way of handling and labeling of SPT, UDS, DS and Rock Core.

Preparation of Borehole log and check out daily progress report.

Leadership to carry the crews on board for the investigation purpose.

Handling the clients by direct and telecommunication.

Report to the Management and suggest about the project progress to the project manager and office up to time.

Give instructions to take the Sample types at the right time.
