The primary function of Application Engineering is to act as an interface between LMW and the customer. All our department actions are focused towards meeting the requirements of the customer in terms of product performance, quality requirements of the customers' components, productivity and in meeting the committed deliveries. In short trying to achieve Total Customer Satisfaction. Nature of job:
1.Machine shope Responsibilities
• Organizing, planning, commissioning and maintaining production lines;
• Improving existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes;
• Handling equipment purchase and installation;
• Investigating operational problems affecting production and dealing with them in a systematic, methodical manner;
• Monitored equipment utilisation and machine downtime with responsibility for the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
• Planning the use of resources and scheduling activities in order to meet an objective;
• Preparing manufacturing documentation required for product manufacture;
• Co-ordinating projects;
• Providing manufacturing data;
• Running meetings with other team members;
• Identifying ways to reduce production costs;
• Liaising with suppliers and customers;
• Training and supervising the operators;
2.Application engineering Responsibilities
Proposal making for the various customer components on C.N.C. lathes and machining centers.
(Study of customer enquiries, working out cycle Time and Preparing Capacity calculation)
Responsibilities in Project Planning included:
Process Planning for components and assemblies
Capacity Planning Process planning for new development items.
Discussions with machine tool suppliers and finalisation of drawing approvals for all ordered machine tools
Selection of latest cutting tools and inserts. (Interact with cutting tool suppliers for difficult operations while study the customer component)
Component proving on C.N.C.lathes.
Exmple1: Maruti Suzuki - Gear Components
For this Customer, we have used with 50% of sandvik tools & 30% of Seco tools, also achieved the target cycle time what we have Proposed.
Exmple 2: Scooters India ltd - Lay shaft, Cluster gear For this Customer, we have used with 60% of sandvik tools & 20% of Seco tools, also achieved the target cycle time what we have Proposed.
Follow up the development items like Fixtures, Other special work holdings with suppliers.
Follow up quotations with cutting tool suppliers and work holding manufacturers for purchase items with delivery commitments.
Preparation of process capability report for customer components.
Preparation final trial reports for customer components.
Basic C.N.C. Programme training to the various customers.
Preparing indents for purchase items in ERP system.
MIN(Material Inward) closing in ERP system.(After receipt of supplier materials stocking in inventory)
Preparing bill of materials for purchase items in ERP system.
When Machine dispatch all puchase items to be move to FG(Finished Goods) In ERP system. 3.Supply chain reponsibilities Responsibilities
Daily production and distribution planning, including all nodes in the supply chain.
Production scheduling for each manufacturing facility in the supply chain (minute by minute).
Demand planning and forecasting, coordinating the demand forecast of all customers and sharing the forecast with all suppliers.
Sourcing planning, including current inventory and forecast demand, in collaboration with all suppliers.
Inbound operations, including transportation from suppliers and receiving inventory.
Outbound operations, including all fulfillment activities and transportation to customers.
Order promising, accounting for all constraints in the supply chain, including all suppliers, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and other customers Education
