CIT is the 100+ year old company which primarily focus on the financing the small business. The project involved building a corporate data warehouse to support the reporting requirements. It involved extracting the source data from various internal and external source systems (32 sources), conforming them to the enterprise standards using conformed dimensions and building the enterprise warehouse.

Worked with the business users to collect the requirements for the corporate warehouse.

Worked on building the data model for the warehouse as well as the data mart. This involved building various base staging tables for landing data, dimensional tables for the conformed dimensions, fact tables for storing the measures defined by their corresponding dimensions, summary tables for report performance.

Designed and developed DataStage jobs to handle the transformations. It involved usage of various datastage stages and routines. The datastage jobs were also controlled and scheduled in the Unix environment using shell scripting.

Designed the mappings between sources to Operational staging targets. Define reference lookups and aggregations. Perform data manipulation using BASIC functions and DataStage transforms & routines.

Worked extensively on different types of stages like Sequential file, ODBC, Hashed File, Aggregator, Transformer, Merge, Join, Lookup, Sort and Containers (Server, Parallel) for developing job.

Wyeth is a world leader in the R&D of health care products. The reporting environment was limited in its ability to provide enterprise level business processes. Information to support macro decisions resided in multiple places and required manual consolidation. The objective of the project was to a create centralized, integrated data warehousing solution that provided visibility to the end-to-end Retail Supply Chain, including shipments, inventory, and retail sales including competitor sales from IRI across the enterprise. The Project involved the analysis for strategic architecture for building the enterprise warehouse conforming to client requirements. The project was a pure consulting work.

Data modeling for the staging and Data Warehouse tables after gathering the business requirements, analyzing the existing MS Excel reports.

Performed the role of BA to understand the user requirements, competitor data and the supply chain KPIs.

Developed the warehouse in Kalido DIW V8.3 for Retail Supply Chain.

Advanced coding in PL/SQL to accomplish the transformation on the data before loading it to Kalido warehouse.

The data was collected from IRI which is 3rd party competitor data. This involved lot of integration challenges which required to map and conform it to the standard Wyeth master dimensions data before loading the data.

The objective of the project was to implement the Sales and the Supply Chain system for the reporting and Analytics of Plan/Make/Sell KPI for each country in the Unilever Asia Pac region. The Key objective is to replace all the country specific local systems with a standard warehouse solution. This enables each country to have the consolidated view of the data to enable critical business decisions based on the KPIs. The consolidation of each country’s data could provide for the corporate level reporting by Unilever London.

User requirement gathering along with the business analyst at Thailand, Singapore, and Japan.

Built the data model in Kalido for the end user reporting requirements.

Performed migrations and purges using the Kalido checkpoint utility.

Performed upgrade from version 7 to version 8.3. Involved with the Kalido Consulting Services from UK for upgrades.

Performance Tuning of the Kalido loading jobs to improve the load time.

Building of the various summary tables for tuning of the BO report performance and for the consolidated data for the corporate warehouse.

IMAGE is a custom warehouse built to meet the sales, supply chain and Claims business intelligence reporting requirements of Hindustan Lever Limited. The model for the HLL included complex KPI calculations completely handled in the warehouse. The loading pattern of the data into the warehouse is also complex with heavy updatable transactions with no clean Master data available.

ETL development using DataStage and Oracle Pl/SQL

Exhaustive DataStage jobs development using ODBC, Sequential files, Hash, Sort, Aggregate & Link Partitioning features.

DataStage Sequencer were used to control the flow of the DataStage jobs.

Complex routines were built in datastage jobs to control the error handling and other complex transformations.

Tuned the DataStage lobs to improve the performance of loading heavy data.

Oracle Pl/SQL coding to accomplish the loading of huge data using the generic fact loader framework.

Scheduled the jobs using Windows Scheduler.
