ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Title: “Analysis of morphological changes in Acinetobacter baumanii upon exposure to cetylpyridinium chloride”
Goal: To observe the morphological changes that occur in the lipid profile of the microbe that possibly leads to antibiotic resistance and also to create awareness about the implications of antibiotic resistance.
Project: Studied the antibiotic resistive characteristic of this microbe by cultivating the bacterium under antimicrobial conditions and studying the changes in its lipid profile. Analyzed bacterial pellets created via centrifugation using gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The results of this experiment show a difference in the spectrum peaks of the cultivated microbe under antibiotic conditions when compared to the wild- type grown under ideal conditions.
