Fish Farm Manager - Marrian Farms (January 2020- present) Marrian Farms is 7 acres of Land in Kozhijampara, Palakkad Kerala, has evolved into integrated farming practices with over 250+ fruits, 25+ Vegetables, who share a goal to provide the highest quality organic produce to our customers. A total area of 2 hectare with five ponds has been used for pisciculture in which one fully scientific modernized 1-acre pond which is the second largest artificial pond in Kerala stocked with tilapia (MST), one pond of bioflock system stocked with tilapia (MST), another smaller artificial pond stocked with IMC(catla, rohu, mrigal) and the other two are natural ponds stocked with Murrel. All the fishes are fed with pelleted feeds of Growell company. A highly equipped hatchery of 12 lakh seed production capacity is working and a well established laboratory is maintained.

Duties and Responsibilities

Continuous monitoring of all the ponds and ensure the fishes are healthy and free of infections

Ensuring the feed is fed at correct time in prescribed quantity by the workers.

Taking quotations from various companies for the feed, aerators, blowers and other farm needs.

Ensure proper aeration, sludge removal and water refilling is carried out at right time.

Water quality parameters checking at alternative days.

Taking care of the hatchery and nursery ponds.

Ensure proper hygienic practices are carried out at the hatchery and nursery pools.

Keeping records, verifying and documenting up to date.

A degree project on “Comparative Study On The Effect Of Three Different Feeds On The Growth Performance Of Oreochromis niloticus (Linnaeus, 1758)”. In this work a total of three feeds including a formulated feed was prepared and fed to Oreochromis niloticus in triplicate tanks and the comparative study of the growth of the fishes were found by various graphical methods.

A mini project on “A case study on the fishermen community affected by Ockhi cyclone along the coast of Kerala”, as a part of MSc project”.

A MSc (Industrial Fisheries) project on “Comparitive Study Of Locally Available Feeds On The Growth performance Of Oreochromis niloticus (Gift) And The Physical Properties Of Treatment Feeds”. In this a total of five feeds including a formulated feed was prepared and fed to Oreochromis niloticus cultured and the comparative study of growth of fishes and the feeds were done graphically by triplicate method.
