Mr. Batalo has been involved in road construction works for more than 25 years with varieties of role starting from collecting road design (survey) data, supervising actual implementation of earthwork preparation including base course and pouring of road concrete carriageway including bridges and culvert structures. Project: Clark International Airport Access Road to NCC Responsibility: Check and review road plans and drawing details. Constantly check the contractor’s daily activities concerning earthworks embankment and cut sections, sub-base base course volume and concrete pavement PCCP. Prepare drawing details on some portion of highway that require changes on alignment and profile like round about and bridges.

Project: Saudi MOT Highways, Eastern Province, KSA Responsibility: Prepare geometric design of roads and highways. Also prepare working drawings that contained plans and profiles and cross sections of such road/highway. Also prepare grading of land surface subdivision as well as volume of earthworks and other construction materials relative to the project.

Prepare grading of housing area on Aramco Fadhili Gas Plant, Jubail-KSA. Also prepare quantities of earthworks of roads and housing area.

Project: Construction of Housing Projects including road network. Responsibility: This project involves in the construction & implementation of housing projects in Jubail & Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. I am tasked to take care of roads and building layouts as well as setting out with proper coordinates and levels according to plans
& specs. During construction when the plan does not match with the actual site, I prepare re- design of road elements and alignment to suit actual situation in accordance with Saudi MOT standards. I am also responsible for computation of material quantities for billing purposes.

Project: SLEX from Sto Tomas, Batangas-Lucena City, Quezon Responsibility: This project involves in design of South Luzon Expressway (SLEX-TR4) in Philippines which concern on preparing design details on 60 kms highway with 5 interchanges, 8 bridges, lots of RCBC’s and RCPC’s structures, flyovers and overpasses on road and farm crossings. Prepare geometric design of highway including grading, drainage and ditches in accordance with Philippine Highway Manual and other standards as AASHTO.
==1/2005 – 6/2006: Filipinas Dravo Corp.- Iligan City, Philippines Role: Civil Engineer (Pavement and Structures)
Project: Lanao del Norte Road Concreting under JICA Responsibility: This project involves of 22 kms PCCP road with 2 RCDG, RCBC’s and RCPC’s, side ditches, retaining walls, slope protection, box gabion and other pay items ancillary to the road pavement project as mentioned in the contract. The project is road concrete national highway two-way, two-lane with lane width of 7.35m. During project duration when highway elements require variation to suit actual site condition, I prepare re-design of elements in accordance with Philippine Highway Standards and AASHTO and submit for approval to client.

Responsibility: Project (1) involves with database inputting of all DPWH (government) possessed and maintained roads all throughout Philippines, taking into consideration the kinds of carriage way and all road attributes as of drainages, ditches, bridges, signage’s with marking its corresponding centralized station and grid coordinates location; Project (2) involves of 60 Kms PCCP national highway project in Pagadian, Zamboanga del Sur including all ancillary works such as concrete treated base (CTB), base course, sub-grade preparation, excavation and embankment and all other pay items mentioned in the contract. The project was pre-designed but at the stage of implementation when problems occur, I prepare re- design of such portion of highway including drainages to suit and satisfy actual road condition, in accordance with Philippine highway standards and AASHTO.

Project: Won Projects from DPWH, Roads and Buildings Responsibility: Duties include the acquisition and negotiation of government projects which require preparing complete design of roads and drainages/ditches of the proposed project using Philippine Highway Standards and AASHTO and submit to client for review and approval, detailed estimates, PERT/CPM graphs, cash flow diagrams, manpower& equipment utilization schedule. Then on awarded projects, I periodically supervise implementation of projects such as PCCP & asphalt roads, bridges, road embankment slope protection, RCBC’s, RCPC’s, side ditches and drainages and other ancillary items required to complete the projects.

Responsibility: Duties include supervision of First class gravel road 72 Kms which start from Maramag, Bukidnon and end at Wao, Lanao del Sur. Project features includes 8 RCDG bridges, lots of RCBC’s & RCPC’s structures, side ditches and drainages, retaining walls, road embankment slope protection and other pay items as mentioned in the contract. Also I am in charge of checking road alignment and final grade finished levels.

Project: RC Roads, Flood Control embankment and Housing Responsibility: Duties include supervising all Royal Commission contractors’ accomplishment in the Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah area. Projects ranged from road pavement, road embankment, flood control, sewer and water pipe lines, housing units and all other related civil works that RC contractors claimed to have accomplished. Also we established first order or primary horizontal and vertical controls in Yanbu-RC controlled area.

Project: Road networks, Workers housing & other farm development. Responsibility: Duties include taking care of all civil works that include preparing geometric design of road network access roads of the farm area and grading of the planting space in order to accommodate free movement of 5-units center pivoted 24 hour rotating sprinklers of plants. Also, supervise and implement construction of such road network, housing building for workers and elevated concrete water reservoir.

Project: Makkah Sewer Lines (main outlet)
Responsibility: Project involves with 11-Kms cast-in-place concrete sewer pipes with diameters ranging from 1.20m at the beginning and 2.10m at the end which collect all sewage discharge in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and bring it to the Sewage Treatment Plant. I have to take care of the alignment and elevation of gravity flowing pipes with deep excavation and backfill after installed. Also I am in charge with quantity calculation of all materials incorporated in the project.
