TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT/MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
6TH GENERATION ULTRA DEEPWATER DRILLSHIP-PACIFIC SHARAV
UNITED STATES COAST GUARD CHIEF ENGINEER UNLIMITED LICENSE
STATE OF MAINE STATIONARY STEAM ENGINEER 1ST CLASS
PROFILE
My main job responsibility is to supervise and lead the seven technical departments onboard the rig, and direct the maintenance activities to ensure on time completion and achieve the highest operational efficiency as possible.
Plan and coordinate for major maintenance periods for between well maintenance which includes major overhauls on engines, BOP 5 yearly, USCG and DNV class inspections, top drive overhauls, NDT MPI, and Phase Array Inspections on equipment to determine structural stress, crane inspections and overhauls, and other essential equipment that needs to be included in not only class surveys but to also meet the other regulatory statutes in place that mobile offshore drilling units adhere to.
Proven ability to perform maintenance on a large variety of equipment. Troubleshoot systems and repair breakdowns quickly to maintain operating efficiency. This has helped enhance my abilities as a manager because I can relate with my employees from the “been there, done that” aspect of the job.
Experienced in worker management: I strive to have a great working relationship with my co-workers, subordinates, equals, or management above me that I report to. Communication is vital, and the chain of command is of utmost importance to ensure a smooth running operation. I am a firm believer in respect is earned and not given, so I try and lead by example to the best of my abilities. There is a huge difference between being a boss and being a leader. Leaders are out there working, guiding, and training every step of the way. A boss will point the finger and expect results.
Participated and graduated from the Reach Group, a 3rd party vendor that specializes in leadership and management as well as ICM which is a competency course designed specifically to address each aspect of my present job description.
Offshore we are accustomed to an 84-91 hour work week, working long hours is not an issue.
