Applying for the post of Financial Analyst

Dear Sir, Madam

I am excited and interested to formally apply for the position of Financial Analyst which is advertised on the website.

I am a management graduate of University of Sri Jayewardenepura - Sri Lanka and I have a management accounting designation (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants -UK). My recent work experience is at Richlu Manufacturing (Winnipeg- Canada) as a Merchandise Business Analyst. My key responsibility was planning/analysis of internal apparel brands in the company and I was reporting to the Inventory Manager. Before working at Richlu Manufacturing, I worked at Brandix Apparel Ltd – Sri Lanka. Brandix is the largest apparel manufacturer/exporter in Sri Lanka and is a preferred vendor to some of the top retail brands in the US and Europe. I joined Brandix as a Management Trainee and have held Merchandiser Bulk and Senior Merchandiser – Bulk positions.

With relevant to the Financial Analyst post that I am applying, I am confident that I am a great fit for the role as I have hands on experience in inventory management, sales management, financial analysis in an entire internal product portfolio of a manufacturing company. I have experience in dealing with finance, ERP teams and other cross functional teams such as Logistics, Sourcing to complete multiple projects related to operational finance and supply chain. I have contributed to streamline some procurement operations related processes at Brandix and at Richlu. I have worked in ERP systems such as Movex, Bluecherry.I am comfortable working with Tableau, I am competent at complex problem solving.

As I have a passion for the financial analysis, costing and merchandising. I was involved in preparing financial, marketing analysis and presentations to the top management level and I was responsible to manage the P/L of the customer accounts I handled, while managing the operational KPIs. I have experience in doing scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis and capital budgeting. I have prepared various reports to the reference of senior management. I would like to evaluate and bridge any gaps I see between my current experience and in this Financial Analyst role and I am passionate to develop my skills, to contribute to the company at my best.
