Business Analyst / Data Analyst

As a member of a large team on a long-term project, primary responsibilities included Gather and Defining Requirements, Analysis and Documenting of manual and automated processes, Data Analysis and Validation. Identify key datapoints required to support daily project data quality metrics reporting. Heavy use of MS SQL (MSSMS) and Oracle SQL Developer writing and maintaining queries for data analysis and reporting. Additional responsibilities included mapping the fields of legacy mainframe systems (50+ years old) to the new MES platform (vended).

Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager

Responsible to document the “what is” of the existing inventory application and defining the “to be” based on business operation needs and gap analysis. The project included upgrades to network infrastructure, servers, Ethernet/fiber, implementation of RFID Technology and Cloud / SaaS based solutions. The project required a presentation to senior management defining the current state and identifying business, operational and financial risks of not resolving the existing state.

Utilized IBM Connections for project collaboration and documenting project artifacts.

Created “User Stories” defining requirements using Agile methodology.

The project was managed as a portfolio (PPM) due separate technology related areas utilizing Agile, Lean, Kanban and Waterfall methodologies.

Managed a team of developers (five to ten) supporting a mature client server investment trade application for the Wealth Management group using Agile development methodology.

Key accomplishment: Improved relationship with business unit by being proactive to business needs instead of reactive.

Lead Application Developer January 2005 – February 2008

As lead developer, responsible for issue resolution, development of new features and assigning tasks to and reviewing the work of other team members. Managed the system, integration and UAT of new releases prior to implementation. Work with business partners to define requirements.

Key accomplishment: Resolved a longstanding trade reconciliation issue by rewriting the SQL stored procedure eliminating reconciliation errors and fines.

Managed the Backoffice (Eagle Investment Systems) development and docket support team of the Eagle Pace & Star vended investment accounting system for the US and Europe Backoffice investment accounting.

Key accomplishment: Redefined the overnight batch process to complete processing before the start of next business day.

Designed and developed a Data Warehouse using Business Objects as the BI reporting interface. The data warehouse was fed from operational data from multiple upstream applications becoming the “system of record” for client fund data.
