EXPERIENCE
SENIOR CHEMISTRY LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Halliburton Energy Services – Elmendorf, TX
12/2010 – 4/2020
Conducted quality assurance tests using approved procedures and complying with API and environmental regulations. Increased customer satisfaction by opening lines of communication within the company locally, nationally, and internationally to troubleshoot obstacles at field-locations, including determining the source and composition of unfamiliar samples. Improved reliability in test results by 35% through analyzing trends and researching causes of inconsistencies. Developed a calibration and maintenance schedule for equipment and other instruments. Enhanced the laboratory and engineering’s training programs through the development of experiments and question sets. Trained new laboratory technicians and engineers in water analysis titrations, troubleshooting fluid designs, interpreting data, online databases, and reporting processes.
STUDENT RESEARCHER
Whittier College Chemistry Department – Whittier, CA 2/2007 – 5/2010
Sythesized and characterized the novel compound 5-methyl-2-[(1- pyrenylmethylene)amino]-phenol. Executed and analyzed data from infrared, ultraviolet-visible, fluorescence spectroscopy, GC-MS, and various NMR spectra. Collaborated in writing and organizing data into poster format. Presented findings at American Chemical Society conference in Washington DC in 8/2009.
SUPPLEMENTAL CHEMISTRY INSTRUCTOR AND
LABORATORY ASSISTANT
Whittier College Chemistry Department – Whittier, CA 2/2008 – 5-2010
Cultivated the learning of chemistry students by expanding on lectures from college professors in environmental chemistry, organic chemistry, and quantitative analysis outside the classroom. Developed lesson plans to simplify professor’s lectures and answered questions in an individual and group setting. Supervised students during lab courses.
