STUDIO EXPERIENCE
Jacquard for Pattern
Using the NedGraphics software for pattern and Point Carre jacquard software for drafting woven structures, I developed patterns through experimentation with material and color. CAD in Textiles
Using NedGraphics software, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I designed repeated patterns of my own artwork. In addition I learned how to color separate, create multiple color ways, and create application sketches.
Textiles Transforming into Furniture
In this research course, I focused on experimentation with soft materials utilizing techniques of textile construction to create furniture with structural integrity. This was a collaboration project between two Furniture Design students and myself. We worked as a team and took advantage of each other’s expertise in furniture making and textile construction. Knitted Fabrics
I learned advanced construction techniques and knitted structure drafting and shaping. I explored ideas about color, pattern, texture, drape, concept and working large scale by creating fabric swatches. Fully-fashioned garments were the primary three-dimensional forms to which I applied my ideas. SAMANTHA FAUSTINO
