Young Adults Ministry Leader

Grace Assembly of God Klang, Malaysia

As a Young Adults Ministry Leader, I oversee the group of young people primarily aged between 23 years old to 30 years old. My primary responsibility include teaching, coaching and counselling. I have been active in this role since 2008, where I worked in a voluntary capacity while working in an international financial institution. In 2015, due to a need in this ministry, I left my employment in the bank to work full time with the church.

Key Achievements:

1. Spear headed, planned, organized and launched Grace Assembly Klang's debut worship album titled 'Arising.'

Note: This project involved close to 100 individuals from the 4 main language departments of the church and was completed within 2 1/2 months, which is a record time. All songs in the album were written in house (I composed 7 out of 12 songs in the album) and involved over 100 hours of production in the studio. This album was released both physically and digitally on over 60 online platforms.

2. Raised the funds for this project and through this project, the young people were given an exposure to the process of recording an album, end to end, which is a first for them.

3. Compiled, edited, and published a 'Song Story' booklet, detailing inspirations behind the songs.

4. Coordinated the formation of a website to promote the album as well as marketing campaigns on social media platforms.

5. Led and organized short mission trips to Grace Assembly's out reaches throughout Malaysia.

Among my roles are:

1. Identify and meet religious education needs of the young adults through teaching of the Bible, small group discussions and one to one coaching. 2. Plan, organize and oversee special events to further equip the young adults such as mission trips and involvement in the church's community service.

3. Meet program needs with strong volunteers' recruitment and training strategies.

4. Help the young adults grow using a dual method of education training and practical experience.

HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Malaysia As a Premier Centre Manager, I was responsible to oversee the Premier Banking division of the following branches:

1) Damansara Uptown (2008-2010)

2) Petaling Jaya (2010- 2014)

3) Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah -Previously known as Jalan Ipoh (2014-2015). Premier banking consists of the top 20% of high net worth clients in the bank, which generate approximately 80% of the branch's revenue. My focus was on deposits, investment and insurance products.

Key Achievements:

1. Set up the first Premier Banking Centre in the Damansara Uptown branch, which involves setting up a culture, processes and structure. 2. Anchored the team in Petaling Jaya during a pivotal time in the bank's sales management process involving an impactful change into a needs based selling structure and a change in the sales commission system for the sales team.

Among my key tasks are:

1) Boosted interest in company offerings with special events and marketing initiatives.

2) Managed well organized and compliant administrative records, especially in relation to sales quality adherence.

Management Trainee

HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia I was part of one of the most comprehensive management training programmes in the banking industry. There were 4 parts to my interview which was an online assessment, a phone interview, a face to face interview and a final business centre which lasted for 6 hours. Through this programme, I was given hands on experience via 6 months of training in a retail branch, before 3 months of rotation in various departments of the bank to give me a wholesome understanding of the bank. In my branch stint, I garnered experience in both the sales and servicing aspect of the branch operation.

Through this programme, in 2008, I also spent 1 month in Bricketwood, United Kingdom at HSBC's training centre, where I had the opportunity to connect and network with other delegates from all over the world and culminating in a presentation on 'green technology' to the then Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings, Stephen Green.

In 2010, as part of this programme, I was also given an opportunity to spend 3 weeks in training at HSBC Hong Kong.

Key Achievement:

1. During my 6 month stint at the branch, I assisted the Branch Management team in leading a change in the branch structure as part of a nationwide campaign, as all the branches moved into the 'New Branch Platform' which emphasized on customer experience and a more efficient branch operation process.
