Bookstore Exterior Elevator – Bidding/Preconstruction and Construction Phases, $617,400 Mt. San Antonio College, Walnut, CA (02/2002 to 06/30/2012)

$800 million. Provided Program, Project and Construction Management services for Mt. San Antonio College. Duties included oversight and coordination of all consultants and trade contractors (most projects were multi-prime) from conceptual design through project completion. Projects listed below, which include some non-bond, scheduled maintenance, and state funded projects.

Design Technology Building - $27.5 million. 66,074 s.f. new building consolidated computer-based design programs such as animation, architecture, graphic arts, photography and geographic information systems. Building main section includes 2 floors of classroom and lab space, which is joined to a large assembly space featuring stepped-seating and audio/visual controls. Project achieved LEED-Silver certification.

Building 7 Exterior Improvements - $1.4 million.

Building 11 Exterior Improvements- $1.2 million.

Building 26 Exterior Improvements. Projects include the breezeways, stairways and exterior upgrades ($1.2 million), the Bridge/Parking Lot ($850,000) and the Courtyard ($600,000).

Athletics Practice Field - $600,000. Replacement of a 54,000 s.f. existing practice field to address drainage and operation issues. Work involved replacement of the sod subgrade with a sand-based system, rerouting of data infrastructure lines, installation of an extensive perforated pipe drainage system, new site paving, fencing and lighting

Southwest Infrastructure Pathway - $91,000

Building 12 Renovation - $6 million, Involved during Design phases only, up to submission to DSA.

Building 23 Remodel and New Data Center - $7.4 million. Remodel of approximately 75% of existing 20,200 s.f. building as well as the addition of a new 7,152 s.f. Data Center to accommodate Public Safety and Information Technology. Due to the complicated and essential technology housed in these facilities, triple-redundancies were designed for power, data and HVAC systems to allow continuous functionality of all systems. The project included a new Server, or “Machine” room, which maintains continuous function of all computer-based operations throughout campus.

Athletic Fields - $8.9 million. Project Manager. Complete relocation of existing athletic fields and associated facilities including Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Golf Driving, Putting and Chipping greens, on an approximate 18-acre site. Associated facilities include bleachers, concessions, press boxes, lockers, team rooms, weight rooms and classrooms.

Air Conditioning/Refrigeration/Welding Building - $6.1 million. Construction of a 26,500 gsf new facility to house the College’s Welding and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration shops and associated classroom and lab spaces.

Relocation of Building 23 - $1.5 million. Complete dismantling, relocation, reassembly and build out of this 20,000 s.f. building, which housed the telecommunications department and various facilities maintenance staff.

Data Center Infrastructure - $800,000. Construction/installation of media duct banks on campus, including the placement of 24 single-mode/21 multi-mode fiber cables from the new Data Center to Buildings 6, 66, 28A, 26A, and Future Agricultural Sciences and Math Sciences, as well as the placement of 100-pair copper from the new Data Center to Math Science, providing much-needed redundant media pathways to and from the Data Center.

Softball Restroom Building - $500,000. New construction of restrooms for student and visitor use adjacent to the new Baseball/Softball complex. Design of the building matches that of the existing athletic complex.

Student Parking Lot S and Pedestrian Crossing at Temple and Bonita - $850,000. Conversion of a temporary parking lot to a fully paved permanent lot and a new pedestrian north/south cross walk at the western side of the intersection of Temple and Bonita Avenues. Included irrigation infrastructure, continuation of sidewalks and the paving of the service yard at the baseball and softball fields.

Pay Parking Lot B: $200,000 - Resurfacing and restriping of existing parking lot, and redirection of traffic through the west end of campus.

Remodel Building for Photography - $900,000. Remodel 18,600 s.f. single story Building 21 to provide temporary housing for the College’s Photography program, including classroom and lecture spaces, offices, darkrooms, film processing, enlarging stations, and a large photo studio . Scope included demolition and abatement

Staff Parking Lot D3 - $700,000. Additional scope items included the replacement of scoreboards, addition of wall pads, painting of interior graphics, construction of a storage room, replacement of gym lighting, among several other items.

Health Occupations Center $2 million. Project Manager. Construction of a 20,000 s.f. classroom facility for the College’s health-related programs. The center, which opened August 14, 2000, included the construction of a 470-stall parking lot, transforming a horse pasture and farmland on campus in just 10 short weeks.

Deferred/Scheduled Maintenance Projects $12 million. Assistant Project Manager, then Project Manager, assigned to oversee and coordinate bidding, document controls, submittal processing, construction administration, RFI's, Change Orders, etc., utilizing newly implemented Prolog Manager program. Involved in design, coordination and construction as they relate to all consultants and trade contractors through project completion. Involved in more than 130 projects over a four-year period.

Learning Technology Center - $14.4 million. Project Coordinator, then Assistant Project Manager. Renovation and modernization of existing two-story, 100,000 s.f. library facility into the new Learning Technology Center. The project included all required abatement, demolition and reconstruction of architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Multiple-prime bidding of 16 separate trade contracts CHCG ARCHITECTS, INC. (Currently Gonzalez Goodale Architects), Pasadena, CA (1991 to 10/1996) Construction Contracts Coordinator and Purchasing Coordinator. Duties involved all administrative tasks required for projects for all phases beyond design development, including construction documents, bidding and construction contract administration. This required word processing of architectural specifications, coordination of specifications with other disciplines, and bidding coordination. Maintained databases and logs for all construction-related documents including submittals, change orders, and requests for information (RFI’s). Submission of documents required by State Agencies such as the Division of the State Architect, Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, and the Office of Public School Construction.
