Kimlor, a privately held company, is a home textile manufacturing/distribution company, sourcing goods worldwide. Upon joining the company sales were $4.5m and grew to $17.5m. In recent years the company has experienced declining sales.

I provided the leadership to successfully accomplish the accounting and IT system development and organizational changes necessary to handle the rapidly growing environment as the company moved into E-Commerce. I am responsible financial reporting and manufacturing operations as well as banking and cash management, audit and tax. I also have a major role in product sourcing including import goods.

Custom Designs Division of Springs Industries Fullerton CA 1990 to 1994 Vice President- Operations

Custom Designs, a waterbed linen production company, was purchased by Springs Industries in the mid 1980’s. I was promoted to VP Operations. When joining the company sales were $30m. During my tenure sales grew to $60m via growing the customer base and translating designs to conventional bedding. My position was responsible for all operations except product design and sales. My time at Custom included increasing production while reducing costs (25%), warehouse updates, system implementation (including the installation of all new computer hardware) and staff development to handle the rapid growth.

Springs Industries 1979 to 1994 Dalton GA Progressive assignments to Divisional Corporate Controller and later reassignment to Director of Customer Service

I became an employee of Springs via the purchase of my employer. At the time of purchase I served as General Accounting Manager. My experience included merging systems, including computer equipment upgrades, in order to support corporate programs. I was later promoted to Division Corporate Controller taking over the cost accounting operations. I was also assigned the direct management of two distribution warehouses. At the time of purchase the division produced sales of $35m. The business grew to $600m. The last two years I was there were spent as Director of Customer Service. During this assignment I was responsible for order entry and credit. I was transferred to this job in order to implement systems to link customer systems directly to our internal systems in order to improve processing efficiency, reduce costs and errors, and reduce customer delivery time. This assignment included travelling to work with customers and sales staff as well as attending market weeks in New York.

Lawtex Industries 1976 to 1979 Dalton GA General Accounting Manager

I began my career at Lawtex as an entry level account. My experience included consolidation of the financial operations of 5 separate manufacturing divisions and incorporating the accounting systems of a purchased company. When I joined, Lawtex had sales of $15m which grew to $35m when the company was purchased.
