Project: Project One/P-Leaf (AT&T Core)

Project Description:

The new AT&T Common Backbone is optimized for the use of 400G transport between nodes. The P-leaf acts as a Label switch router (LSR) and supports Traffic Engineering (TE) for bandwidth management and restoration needs. Approximately 200 p-leaf nodes will be constructed to support inter-city transport of AT&T services. This is a single “flat” MPLS network. The whitebox platform used for the P-leaf nodes is a disaggregated chassis whitebox supplied by UFISpace based on the Broadcom Jericho2 chipset. The core network control plane is a single ISIS domain with multiple regions. The use of multiple regions is used to contain the number of TE tunnels any given P-leaf needs to manage.

Responsibilities:

•Defined and run tests covering appropriate test cases for the assigned call/signaling flows and/or network elements and associated business service features/enhancements.

•Conducted extensive lab evaluations and integration testing of network elements and document results.

•Created the test topology as per the test requirement in the Lab.

•Download the DNOS software to the all core P-Leaf cluster.

The next generation D2 aligned PE to support ADI-G business needs in AT&Ts most of the world network infrastructure is an essentially ODM (original design manufacturer) hardware platform, a white-box supporting a third party disaggregated software. The ODM White-Box (WB) hardware is AS591654XKS an open switch platform from Edge Core which will be integrated with the Cisco XR to provide the required functionality and support AT&Ts ADI-G service definition.

Responsibilities:

•Converted the Juniper Test Plan to Cisco specific.

•Worked on different test scenario for routing protocol like LDP, MPLS, OSPF and BGP.

•Set up the Test Bed using Link Aggregation, 802.1Q and Double Tagging (Q in Q).
