PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Schneider Electric, Bangalore, India
Apr 2017 – Mar 2018
Factory Automation Intern, Industrial Engineering Department
Implementation of automation systems and production scale-up from manual to semi-automated and fully automated by the following-
implement an Autonomous Ground Vehicle (AGV) to improve material handling.
deliver a LabVIEW application for real-time product-based data allocation and enhanced user interaction.
design an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) roller-based automatic PCB cleaning system to reduce 1/shift headcount.
implement Set Part System (SPS) and 5S on a U-line and maintained ergonomics, to achieve an 8% OEE boost.
facilitate Methods-Time Measurement (MTM) for New Product Development (NPD) during the line set up.
integrate PLCs for control of machining tools and loading/unloading of data to sustain standardization.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
MEMS Sensors and Actuators Laboratory, UMD, MD June 2019 – May 2020
Research Assistant on the project ‘Ingestible Capsule’, advised by Dr. Reza Ghodssi.
MEMS ingestible and biocompatible device for real-time capacitive data-acquisition and drug delivery to the GI tract to enable minimally invasive diagnostics and treatment.
Tested the electronics of a multi-layer PCB for I2C and ADC interface using Simplicity Studio, SiLabs.
Integrated sensors with nitride coating to measure gut capacitance.
Drafted the biocompatible shell to encapsulate the electronics, using MED610, adhering to the FDA regulations.
Generated results by simulating the conical spring structure, for tissue attachment, in COMSOL.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
As a Special Events Associate managed and planned transportation services and motor assistance for special events, and partnered with campus partners such as campus police and enforcement services, at the Department of Transportation Services (DOTS), UMD, MD. Jan 2019 – Aug 2019
As a Student Representative, bolstered the relationship between the administration and graduate students by protecting the welfare, rights, and interests, along with inter-departmental collaborations to organize social mixers and Technical events, at Graduate student Government (GSG), UMD, MD.
