Pumping Station 70 (PS 70) January 2012- June 2012
A) January- June 2012: construction and commissioning activities.
Instrument commissioning supervisor responsible to manage E&I team. The main objective of this responsibility is to make sure all instrument activities are followed up according to design and procedures from installation to start-up. Encourage good progress from all the team members and make sure all test forms have been signed by the client. All signed form is recorded and updated in the instrument follow-up table.
Good knowledge in pumping analysis, Rotor actuated valves and UPS.
Pumping Station 70 (PS 70)
B) June 2012 till date: Preservation and maintenance activities.
i)Daily routine-check of all instrument and electrical devices in the facility.
This requires verification and operational status of devices on site. Corrective
maintenance is required to ascertain the integrity and the reliability of all ins-
trument and electrical equipment during start-up and full operation.
ii)Monthly and hourly running of all centrifugal pumps in the facility.
This consists of running all the pumps for an hour each with clean water. In this operation, all the process variables such as vibrations, temperatures, flow and pressure values are monitored. Each pump has it print-out, report from SCADA for report and performance purposes.
iv) All Rotork actuated valves and penstocks are operated once monthly to check if
there is any mechanical problem.
iii)Removal / cleaning of all air filters for ventilation system is also done once
month. Greasing of all rotating equipment is always done to avoid rusting and break down.
WEST AFRICAN GAS PIPELINE COMPANY ( W.A.G.P.CO ) LAGOS, NIGERIA.

Instrument commissioning / construction technician: the responsibility includes safe and good practice in the handling of all instrumentation devices and make, if necessary, suggestions and recommendation to client for modification of design which cannot be implemented as regards to site condition. Also all instrument test form from installation to commissioning are duly signed by the client and handed over to documentation department for reference.
This project joins four countries in West Africa by gas pipeline laid along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and stretched over 678km between Nigeria, Rep. of Benin, Rep. of Togo and Ghana. The end of this project offered me a maintenance contract (preventive and corrective) of all the instrument and electrical equipment in all the facilities in the various countries forming the company. The goal is to make sure all the devices are reliable and work efficiently.
Also in my line of duty, I have the responsibility to commission and start all the gas heaters in the RM stations.
Assist Solar Turbine vendor in the maintenance and troubleshooting of defective instrument devices to be replaced during operation.

Instrument foreman: I have the duty to verify and confirm that all instruments correspond to the requirement of the process design and fit for operation. I also liaise to other disciplines to safely and harmoniously work together without causing injury or accident to the personnel or the equipment. To these responsibilities are added the fire and gas system in all the substations to be commissioned and put into operation.

Commissioning technician with the task of overseeing the activities of different working team. I assist also in solving some technical issues such as modification of field installation devices which in drawing are approved but not practicable in the field. The devices are finally accepted as built and approved.
I engage in field calibration exercise by helping the working groups to avoid making mistake in the calibration of control valves, differential pressure and flow transmitters, temperature
transmitters, hydrostatic and ultrasonic level measurement devices, and testing of fire and gas loops. With the system engineer on the SCADA system, I was in charged to supervise the activities of the testing groups in the field and to monitor on PLC that all signal and command are aligned up to the SCADA system during simulation and functional tests.

Turn Around Maintenance: T.A.M July 2002 to September 2004.
On this project, I act as instrument technician. Here I need to plan and participate in the removal of the obsolete instrument devices and replaced them with new ones (all kind of instruments). This happened in all the various unit of the refinery including the alkylation plant. At this time, I have to coordinate the collection and movement of all materiel needed to the warehouse for storage.
Also I assist the client in the commissioning during the start-up of the various units of plants after the turn- around -maintenance period.
