Role details:

I have worked as a security services expert at Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) team of Vodafone Turkey.

My primary job is NetScaler Load balancing (LB) and Web Application Firewall (WAF) configuration here. HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, DNS LB are just some examples of load balancer configuration I made. In the WAF part, I created WAF profile regarding to OWASP-10 vulnerabilities for every customers who requesting HTTP Layer-7 protection to their web sites. Furthermore, designing of customer’s LB topologies is one of my LB jobs here.

Another significant job I am doing here is new customer implementation that includes installation and designing topologies of firewall. In consideration of designing topologies I have configured firewall rules for client to server connections, client’s internet connection through firewall, connections between load balancer and servers etc.

Responsibilities:

Providing post-sale support (firewall, load balancer, IPS, VPN etc.) to customers of MSSP.

Design of new customer Security topologies with firewalls and load balancers and deploy these topologies into production.

Configuration of Web Application Firewall (WAF) on NetScaler load balancers regarding OWASP-10 vulnerabilities.

Implementing DRC scenarios with NetScaler GSLB configuration

Supply with access requests by configuring firewalls such as Checkpoint, Fortigate, Cisco ASA etc.

Personal achievements:

-Design Firewall & Load balancer topologies, installations, implementation websites on load balancer.

Role details:

I worked as IT Security Specialist in Borsa Istanbul A.S. which is the only stock exchange firm in Turkey.

As an IT Security Specialist, I managed firewalls (Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Fortigate etc.), load balancers (F5, NetScaler and Nginx), SSLVPN devices (Juniper, Cisco ASA) and other security devices such as Sourcefire IPS, Vasco, Websense, Tufin etc.

I was project manager of Load balancer Purchase and Implementation. It was migration job from Cisco CSS to F5. Every web sites had been running on Cisco CSS load balancer which was End of Sale and End of Support. I have set up F5 cluster and implemented those websites on F5. Also I configured F5 ASM policies for all websites such as borsaistanbul.com, ebs.borsaistanbul.com etc. ASM policies had both Web Application Firewall and DDoS Protection configuration.

Firewall configuration based on basic security approaches (rule management, network

configuration etc.), full setup

Detailed load balancer configurations regarding to institutional security policy
