Public Relations Practitioner
Undertaking of marketing tasks within the specific collections region in order to increase the public’s awareness, knowledge and understanding of blood donation. The primary objective is to meet the collections targets and secondly to address the marketing needs within their area of operation
Reaching blood group specific targets through events, talks, disseminating information and education of donors and the public
Evaluation and monitoring of blood drives to ensure there is a safe target market and sufficient donor base
Sourcing of additional ad-hoc and regular blood drives in the area to meet targets
Recruiting and retaining donors for the area in consultation with the Head of Marketing
Monitoring collections against targets and taking corrective action if required
Management of recruitment via Tele-recruiters and Donor Recruiters
Efficient communication of changes to and cancellation of blood drives to relevant parties
Ensuring sufficient donors are scheduled to make collections targets and required scheduling accuracy is maintained
Implementing marketing and public relations activities in line with the marketing business plan within the Collections Branch
Assisting with donor education when donor educator is unable to attend
Building strong relationships with blood drive controllers through regular visits and attending to all queries raised timeously
