Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor advice and assist to ensure that safe systems of work and procedures are adhered to.

Issue and maintenance of all safety signs, eyewash stations and ancillary safety equipment.

Inspect all passageways, stairs and fire exists to ensure that they are free fin obstructions and comply with the relevant legislation.

Monitor that the respective personal protective equipment is being worn relevant to the task being performed.

Carryout a weekly check on all fire alarm systems and function test.

Inspect all firefighting equipment on monthly basis and record.

Ensure that there are appropriate and sufficient safety signs in the department.

Ensure that all evacuation assembly points are maintained and contain the relevant instruction / procedures. Ensure and verify actions on request for action are taken.

Inspection of all safety equipment’s such as PPE, safety harness, fire extinguishers etc.

Checking the entire safe work plan prior to commence the work.

Checking of scaffold materials before and after installation.

Headcount and evaluate personal to safe assembly point in case of emergency.

Maintain safety of crane and heavy equipment operators and workers.

Make sure the necessary work permit prepared before begin the job.

Conduct weekly Tool Box Meeting.

Emergency response procedure:

Monitor and ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained.

Check suitability and quality of personal protective equipment’s.

HSE knowledge and Training

Hot work procedures. Scaffolding inspection training Confined Space Entry.

Lockout& Tag out (LOTO) procedure.
