Project Engineering and Control for Clean Fuels Project (CFP) for KNPC.

General Accountability:

As a Senior Project Engineer, responsible for managing the day-to-day planning and engineering initiatives for the CFP. The assignment includes, identifying obstacles or opportunities that support the CFP and the existing operations. Manage the process of developing feasible solutions that solves the obstacles or allows for utilizing opportunities. Accountable to control and monitor project’s total expenditure to capture and record all project expenditures against budget.

Responsible for the Planning, scheduling, monitoring & control of the project on a continuous basis through work schedules, progress measurement & reporting systems ensuring smooth execution of the project.

Principal Responsibilities:

-Provide project engineering & control services to the Manager Projects to implement the project.

-Impart leadership to planning engineers, schedulers and cost engineers to plan, monitor and control the execution of the project within the time and budgetary parameters, optimizing resource utilization.

-Provide planning and cost controlling support for all sub projects, which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer billing processes.

-Monitoring progress of the work for timely execution weekly/monthly reports with respect to review of the overall project and resolve any problems, bottlenecks/scheduling conflicts.

-Manage the planning process for execution of the RFC-RFI engineered solution.

-Developing strategies to overcome roadblocks or delays using industry related technical knowledge, innovating alternative ways.

-Coordinate with site management on status, significant trends and changes of approved projects.

-Establish the working relationship with operations needed to facilitate the tie-ins during turnarounds.

Aurora Tailings Management (ATM). External support to ‘ATM- $300M Program’, mainly worked on bubbler systems and Barge/Dredges. Managed multidiscipline EPC for bubbler system and barge / dredge projects to sustain the configuration. Bubbler System 12-16” HDPE Piping under water ($15M)

Fine Fluids Tailings Full Scale Program (FFTS). Expansion and De-bottlenecking projects for FFTFS- $450M. Conveyer de-icing system. Bird Deterrent system, Electrical and Automations. 24” Piping ($20M)

Syncrude Utility Sustaining Program (SUSP). Managing multiple projects for Program SUSP-$200M for Electrical and Automation, Co-Gen, Demineralization, Structural engineering for Additional pipe racks these projects are in consortium with Black and Veatch (USA). ($25M)

Water Efficiency Project. Additional cooling water pumping system with three pumps and related piping system. Including two heat exchanges replacements. ($30M)

Equipment Strategy. Facilitation to compile ‘equipment strategies’ including maintenance analysis for Syncrude. Supported investigations into equipment failures by working directly with the reliability group to identify root cause failures. Asses maintenance requirements for the mine equipment asset strategy development for various equipment.

Rubber-lined Spools project. Pilot project using new technology, scope included developing specifications and standards for rubber lining. Rubber Lined Spools 24” Piping Projects for 2016 ($10 M) and for 2017 ($10M)

Coke Storage Extension for the years 2012–19-Program. Worked on Program development of CSE-2012/2019 -16” Piping -$9M. This contains various yearly projects till 2019. Scope includes GATE procedures for development of front-End engineering. Estimating, Economic analysis, Procurement planning for long lead items along with Execution and construction plan development. Completed development and execution of 2012 /2013 project under this program.

Haul Roads program. Developing Haul Roads program ($80M) for the year 2012 to16.This includes coordination between various contractors for development and construction of the roads and lighting for the same. In this program a new technology is being introduced for more sustainability of the roads. Completed development of 2013 project under this program. Execution started in the month of June 2014.

Center Dyke Internal Drains Project Engineering and construction of Internal drains for Aurora Center Dyke, 16”- 32” piping ($26M)

Senior Project Engineer through CoSyn for Syncrude responsible for project engineering of SRP Refurbishment Program ($30 M) and CT Plant Relocation Project ($ 72 M). Complete execution of System 4-5-6 Relocation (24” piping -12Kms) with three pump houses (2500HP). Executed and maintained program management processes and disciplines in the areas of: program schedule and quality management; communications management; human resource management; cost management; procurement management; risk issue management; change management.

-Awarded for cost saving idea ($2 M).

CR-ASIA LTD. (CONTRACT RESOURCES) - SINGAPORE / INDIA Jan 2000 – Jun 2002

Manager of Projects responsible for program and portfolio management for engineering and execution for specialized services in the oil & fertilizer sector in South Asia and Indian subcontinent. Responsible for development, support and engineering of specialized maintenance projects to the Oil and Gas Industry.

Multi-discipline engineering projects for FCCU, AU, VGO, SRU, Glycol, Converters, and reactors.

Managed turnaround of Largest VGO (2260m3) catalyst change under inert atmosphere in Reliance Refinery. Completed 20 electrical & engineering service projects in oil refineries and fertilizers.

-Awarded first prestigious contract in fertilizers to overhaul NH3-converter.

Project Manager EPC Projects - Complete fire protection with HVILV pump house and related electrification.

Led the execution of Procurement & Construction LSTK project of US$5.0 M from M/s ZUBLIN-Germany in Abu Dhabi for overall EPC for 20MMT Grain Silo Project.

Additional responsibility of Turnkey Engineering contracts, design and equipment finalization, oil Riggs maintenance from ADNOC and ADGAS.

Successfully led to get Engineering contract to construct and commission with EPPCO-Dubai for US$1.5 M for Fire protection pipeline with 2250 GPM pump house for storage tanks of capacity 90K Gallons.

Successful in getting technical qualification in Major Oil companies such as ADNOC, ADMA ENOC, EPPCO, GASCO, and EMARAT in United Arab Emirates.

Managed EPC Projects in Oil and Fertilizer Sector. Completed Turnkey lump sum EPC contract of Fire Protection System (24”-36” piping and pumping stations) in ONGC, Completed Instrumentation system in Sugar manufacturing industry. Responsible for complete designing and engineering of Guardian Glass plant with 22KV input supply and complete internal distribution system.
