ArcelorMittal USA, Cleveland, Ohio
Associate Engineer – Mechanical (June, 2019 – Present)
- Co-managed department of 30+ mechanical and electrical maintenance technicians to ensure the effective repair, reliability, and safety of over 160 overhead cranes and hoists, while remaining in compliance with OSHA-mandated monthly/ annual inspections
- Introduced, improved upon, and sustained several best practice maintenance strategies, such as maintenance tracking, standardized periodic lubrication, and mechanical vibration and electrical “hot spot” reporting to better service equipment from a preventative/ predictive approach- **Maintained a hot metal crane availability rate of approximately 98.36%**
- Created a running list of crane and hoist critical spares, identified quantities required to continue operation/ remain within various department budgets, and developed autonomous queries within CMMS software to alert planning personnel of insufficient inventories
- Designed and coordinated the fabrication of more robust gearbox and motor baseplates used in existing equipment upgrades
- Monitored and evaluated plant energy performance, in the form of electricity, natural gas, city water, and industrial gases, developed trends and calculated correlation coefficients between utility usage and tonnage, reported quarterly fuel consumption to environmental group
- Performed electrical and natural gas forecasting, based off of production scheduling and projected tonnages, to accurately predict and purchase plant utilities- **Refined current electrical forecasting process to increase accuracy by approximately 3.05%**
MarkWest Energy Partners, L.P. (Marathon Petroleum), Cadiz, Ohio
Engineering Intern (May, 2017 – August, 2017 and May, 2018 – August, 2018- Two Rotations)
- Coordinated with several project managers/ engineers in completing assignments related to construction, MOC’s, and process
-Developed dynamic master schedules within Microsoft Project to monitor, track, and predict the completion of pipeline pre-construction and construction-related activities within the Utica region
-Completed tasks as an OSIsoft administrator, including created/ managed a large array of PI screens, (SCADA) tags, databases, and archives, which were used for real-time data monitoring
-Created new, and redlined existing launcher/ receivers (pig trap) drawings, so that they could be accurately implemented into site-based piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s)
-Served as a liaison between MarkWest and engineering consultants, working as both quality control and documentation specialist
