EXPERIENCE
UX Designer/Researcher
Designation (4/18–10/18)
Design Researcher
Punchcut Agency (1/20–5/20)
Senior Product Support Specialist
Axure Software Solutions (4/14–4/18)
I led UX research and design to build digital products and services for clients. We conducted tactical and strategic research, user recruitment, user interviews, synthesis, market and competitive research, and a breadth of user testing. Punchcut is a user interface design and innovation company that designs and realizes next generation digital products and services that engage customers and transform businesses. I conducted design research and strategy for wearable tech, video-on-demand, temporary housing as a service, and design ethics.
From the front line of UX research, I synthesized user segments and bridged user needs with product needs. I consulted users in wireframing and prototyping for web, mobile, and across OSes. I also conducted market research, competitive analyses, and partnered with QA, PM, development, and enterprise sales throughout the product cycle. Staff Research Associate
UCSD Electrophysiology Lab (4/11–4/14)
I oversaw data collection procedures across the lab and trained new researchers, starting with screening and interviewing users, testing, and working with vulnerable populations
(e.g. early onset dementia, mild cognitive impairment, youths 13–17, elderly 70–90). Methods included: direct interviews, a battery of psychological tests, EEG brainwave studies, and online questionnaires. I also analyzed qualitative and quantitative data. Teaching Assistant
UCSD Cognitive Science Department (3/11–6/11)
I led weekly discussion sections on principles in cognitive linguistics, language acquisition, language development, speech impairments and communicative disorders. Red Caffeine: We improved an internal, custom-built project management tool for Red Caffeine, a growth agency in Chicago area. We targeted account managers to improve resource allocation, and planned a UX strategy to create a viable SaaS. Design Museum of Chicago (ChiDM): Our team helped ChiDM in reaching a wider audience for their exhibit, Great Ideas of Humanity. We focused on inclusivity in the local creative community and aimed to uplift underrepresented groups, including members among LGBTQ and the POC community. UX Consultant
Freelance (1/19–10/19)
I supported UX design, research, and design reviews for new product releases, independent projects, and nonprofits. Through Out in Tech Digital Corp, my most recent pro bono project was to collaboratively build Wordpress sites for LGBTQ activists.
