Dear Hiring Manager,

I am Kimberly Vialpando, a Colorado Springs resident and passionate advanced practice nurse seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner position caring for patients in our diverse community. I have extensive clinical experience managing care for preventative health, acute health issues, and chronic conditions.

Because of my rigorous academic and clinical experiences as a student at University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, I am a devoted professional and an ideal candidate for the advanced practice nurse position. I am confident that I possess the education, knowledge, and determination required to be an excellent Family Nurse Practitioner. I have accumulated a great deal of knowledge through clinical rotations at the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at UcHealth Primary Care, Peak Vista Community Centers, University of Colorado Midwifery Clinic, and Children’s Hospital Colorado Springs. I diagnosed, treated, and managed care for patients of all ages and backgrounds, and conducted visits focusing on internal medicine, family practice, mental health, geriatric care, and women’s healthcare. My clinical experiences include ordering laboratory testing, prescribing medications, assisting with trigger point injections, STI screening, annual physicals, treating a variety of acute illnesses, and managing complex chronic diseases. I educated patients on the importance of preventative health care and guided them to have better control of their chronic illnesses. I’ve learned a tremendous amount in my career as a Registered Nurse as well. At the beginning of my nursing career, I had the privilege of attending the University of Colorado’s new graduate residency program, where I received the education and hands-on training to become an exceptional nurse. I learned to empower patients to perform at their optimal level of health by developing meaningful relationships.

I proudly led my unit in a skin and wound project which decreased hospital-acquired pressure injuries by implementing a double-registered nurse skin assessment that was adopted hospital- wide. Additionally, I possess ample experience in training both new graduate and veteran nurses to become leaders in our field.

I am determined to continue contributing my vast career knowledge and experiences to the advanced practice nursing field. I passionately believe my new career path will fully employ and demonstrate my strengths and skills while challenging my ongoing development as a compassionate and devoted Family Nurse Practitioner. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Respectfully,

Kimberly Vialpando

Kimberly Vialpando, FNP-C
