Duties: Placed in Power train Division, assignment on which I worked was ‘Study of Engine Assembly, Machine Shop and Trimming Line’. In this I had to study in detail the 3 mentioned departments, a report was made including the study details at the end of the internship.

2. Name of Company: Faurecia India Private Ltd, Pune Duration: From 6th August 2018 to 2nd June 2020

Title: Design Engineer

Duties: To design the Instrument Panel, Door Panel and Centre Console (Car Interiors) following the general rules of injection moulding and implementing the actual design in CAD on Catia V5. The parts have to be designed in such a way that the entire product has to be packaged in the available space keeping in mind the static and dynamic gap requirement between the parts.

PROFESSIONAL PROJECTS:

1. Title: TESLA Model S (LHD & RHD) & TESLA MODEL Y Company: Faurecia India Private Ltd, Pune

Duration: From November 2018 to April 2019.

Details: The project was aimed at designing of Instrument Panel parts, for LHD model, my contribution was in different checks and analysis like draft, sink mark, gap and flush requirement and clash analysis of the entire product. Here I also got an opportunity to know more about tooling by working on different toolmaker feedbacks received on the parts like end caps and centre screen panel. Also worked on the section book of the entire product. Managing tasks like BOM and interaction with the customer for BOM updates or delivery format was an additional learning opportunity that I got.

For RHD model I was given the responsibility of the parts like Knee Airbag Cover and Footwell covers. Proposal of A surface for combined KAB and Footwell Cover was worked out. Here I got the information about standards to be followed for designing of KAB covers. Also proposal of feasible location for the footwell lamp was given keeping in consideration the wire routing.

2. Title: TESLA MODEL Y (IP/DP)

Company: Faurecia India Private Ltd, Pune

Duration: May 2019 to September 2019.

Details: I was responsible for Footwell Covers and Footwell Ducts for IP. Different Duct surfaces were proposed and any changes required were made depending on CFD analysis. Fixation strategies were decided according to 3-2-1 Principle keeping in mind the tooling and space consideration. Here, I also got an opportunity to deal with the customer for the parts for which I was responsible. In Model Y Door Panel Project, I got an opportunity to work on 2D Drawings. Here, I got to know about drafting and standards to be followed. The parts I worked on for 2D are Top roll, Armrest and Map Pocket. 3. Title: JLR

Company: Faurecia India Private Ltd, Pune

Duration: September 2019 to November 2019.

Details: I got an opportunity to work on Light Guides for JLR project with the Innovation team. I learned about the different supporting parts for light guide and tooling standards of the same. I also got a chance to work on the sensor design and learned about the PCB packaging and fixation strategies that can be used between the metal and plastic part.

4. Title: TESLA MODEL S (IP-2.0)

Company: Faurecia India Private Ltd, Pune

Duration: December 2019 to February 2020.

Details: I was responsible for Glove Box parts like Inner door, outer door and Bin. I got to be a part of study of different mechanisms for opening of GB. Also positioning of the mechanism including the activator positioning and pawls was done. Packaging was the critical part in this area, where the mechanism was to be decided owing to the space limitations as well as the advantages/disadvantages of the mechanism. 5. Title: LUCID DP

Company: Faurecia India Private Ltd, Pune

Duration: February 2020 to June 2020

Details: Here, I was responsible for part and assembly drawings of the entire DP product (Front and Rear). Proposal of tentative positioning of SPC points to maintain the gap and flush was also made. Different updates in 2D were made for different parts according to the requirement of the customer. PROJECTS

FINAL YEAR PROJECT (June 2017 to May 2018):

Title: ‘90 Degree Peel Test for Interfacial Delamination’ in collaboration with ‘Anveshak Technologies and Knowledge Solutions’

Details: The project was focused on Design, Development and Manufacturing of 90 degree Peel test Setup using an UTM. Also validation of the designed setup was done by comparing the results of the test with that of the standard values of peel strength of 3M adhesives. In addition, the study of variation of different factors like curing time and adhesive thickness on peel strength was done using the designed set up and the same was validated by comparing it with standard trends. Different stages of work were designing stage, designing the mechanism and CAD implementation using SOLIDWORKS, stress analysis using ANSYS, actual manufacturing of the setup, specimen preparation according to ASTM standards, actual testing on UTM and validation of the results.

MINOR PROJECTS:

Title: Seminar on ‘Reactivity Controlled Combustion Ignition (RCCI)’ Engines (December, 2016) Details: It was focused on studying the basic technique and working of RCCI Engines, its practical applications, advantages, drawbacks and its future scope regarding any improvisation in the technique. The study has enlighten me regarding how using this technology, different fuels can be mixed in different proportions affecting not only the overall efficiency of the engine but also the NOx and soot emissions.
