Product Analyst (January 2019 – May 2020)

Evaluated the commercial viability of new features for the cloud-based production operations advisor (ProdOps) software. Engaged with the potential customers to understand their needs, and effectively communicated with the development team to design, plan, and define the road map and implementation strategies under the Agile / Scrum methodology.

Expanded the core product capabilities by developing multiple dashboards in the Business Intelligence (BI) tool and integrated them in ProdOps. Those dashboards were complete workflows including gas lift KPIs, well status, loss management, and water flooding.

Improved the graphical capabilities of ProdOps, and designed the process historian tool, which also allows the user to save personalized trend plots as a combination of multiple interrelated wells and process variables.

Collaborated with cross-functional teams on the development of new insights, for ESP and PCP wells, on which the system identifies a potential problem in operation and advises the Production Engineer to take corrective action.

Designed the surveillance module for ESP, PCP, and SRP Wells, so that the Production / Surveillance Engineer can closely monitor the fields and take proactive action according to observed behavior of the monitored parameters to maximize the production and decrease the downtime.

Solutions Architect / Production Consultant (September 2012 – December 2018)

Performed the design, implementation, testing, and installation of OLGA Online solutions, focusing on real-time, what-if and Look-Ahead dynamic multiphase simulations of pipelines, well bores, and process systems using the OLGA software. Developed custom-made GUIs and performed integration of the multiple software solutions involved in the OLGA Online architecture. Provided Flow Assurance technical consulting services and trained the software users and the new OLGA Online team members.

Upgraded the whole architecture of a project in Angola and simplified the model and components to improve the performance of the simulation and the calibration of the system.

Developed, coded, and integrated diverse advisor modules and functions, and performed calibration for the delivered systems to match the field data within an admissible accuracy so that the model and advisor predictions were reliable and added value to the field operations by accurate diagnosis of potential Flow Assurance issues like hydrates, liquid hold-up in gas pipelines, oil quality, slugging, corrosion, etc.

Fostered and developed the Base Model concept, to reduce the cost of the solution and offer a more competitive price, by breaking down the OLGA Online system onto customizable re-usable components, like model templates, standardized user interface pages, documentation, and naming convention; traduced in flexibility for expansion, fewer man-hours and shorter delivery time.

ENERGY SOLUTIONS INTERNATIONAL, Houston, TX March 2009 – September 2012

Project Engineer

Configured, debugged, and calibrated real-time hydraulic modeling systems for liquid and gas pipelines. Implemented real-time Leak Detection Systems, Batch and Scrapper Tracking, Predictive and Trainer Models, and gas nomination systems. Conducted installation, tuning, Factory Acceptance Tests, and Site Acceptance Tests. Generated all the documentation delivered at the different phases of a project.

Analyzed the historical operational data and the current operating conditions of multiple instrumented pipelines worldwide to effectively calibrate the hydraulic models to detect leaks of different sizes and their location as accurately as possible to enhance productivity.

Coordinated the development of multiple features for Pipeline Transporter Gas, a gas nominations system that condensed several software components used in the gas transportation business into one single solution, capable of covering the entire cycle of nominations, hydraulic validation, scheduling, allocation and invoicing.
