EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AT SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY, INCORPORATING LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Being a full time employee while studying on a part time basis has limited my scope of extracurricular activities at university, at school I played on both the volleyball, netball teams, I continued to play volleyball socially up until a few years ago. I attended religious group activities as well as vernacular classes, learning the Tamil (Indian language), I was placed in 3rd position for the provincial Tamil exam I have been a Secretarial Ambassador, our duties entail us being the first employees to work on, comment on and deliberate on any issues that affect the support staff and professional staff at Webber Wentzel, we are also entrusted to train our practice groups on new programs upon the implementation of such programs. I have completed law school with the Law Society of South Africa with a distinction and received an outstanding performance certificate, during law school I was elected as a "Managing Partner" in our team for all simulations (all students divided into teams of six (6) and had to create a law firm from non-existent to fully functional), moot courts, drafting, resolving conflicts, facilitating tasks/instructions and all other activities, valuations and examinations/tests required for us to complete as a team for the duration of law school. I am currently managing processes and portfolios internally in the foreclosures department at Smit Sewgoolam Incorporated and was Elected by the Board to be a member of the social committee for the firm for 2019 – organised various events, blood drive, Spring party etc.
