- Coordination for the resolution of radiation safety issues and assessment of risk involved during all exposure in radiography to minimize risk factors by strict compliance of safety requirements of this manual & other applicable requirements.
- Assessment of over exposure risk involved during all radiation related work such as maintenance services, leak tests and transportation.
- Ensure safe Handling for all sealed sources used for industrial radiography such as IR-192, SE-75
- Responsible for inspection and servicing of all radiographic exposure devices, Projectors, controls, and guide/extension tubes.
- Ensure safe Handling, calibrations such as wipe test, radiation survey, survey meter calibration, Thermo luminescent dosimeter (TLD) etc., monitoring, and maintenance of radiation safety equipment.
- Coordinate and conduct training for radiation workers and maintaining all the records.
- Investigate and report all incidents involving over- exposure to ionizing radiation, any leak or malfunction of the radiation sources.
- Participate and give advice in case of radiation emergencies, Emergency Response Drill and support during the preparation of the pre-incident plan.
- Ensure that only radiation workers and assistants who are qualified or certified, and who are competent and trained in radiation safety conduct radiation related activities.
- Provide radiation awareness training, refresher training and to perform radiation safety audits, site inspection, and reporting of the same.
- Supervise the works and practices involving exposure to radiation in the facility and assessment of personal and environmental radiological exposures in the working areas.
- Ensure personnel exposure monitoring (Thermo luminescent dosimeter (TLD) Badges), Area radiation survey, radiation leak test (wipe Test) and calibration of radiation survey meters is conducted as per the requirements of NRRC and Saudi Aramco and make sure that calibration and maintenance is being performed to all equipment required calibration.
- Make sure all Industrial Radiography comply with government regulations and closely monitored in compliance to the safety requirements of NRRC
- Maintain a list of the company classified employees (Radiation Worker) and maintain the record of their dose
- Submission of the reports to NRRC. (Dose record and isotope status).
- Visit sites and make necessary arrangements regarding radiation safety. Education
