Shift Full-time Medical Technologist in Core Lab. Rotating nightly, working independently in Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank. Calling critical/significant results to nurses and physicians, and judging specimen integrity. Hematology: CBCs, Manual Diffs, Retics, Coags, Sed Rates, Urinalysis’, Urine Microscopies, UCGs/HCGs, and Body Fluids. Analyzers: Beckman Coulter LH, Diagnostics Stago, Chemistry: Daily, Weekly, Monthly Maintenance on analyzers. Analyzers familiar with Siemens Vistas, Imulites, and VivaE, BioMerieux Vidas, Advanced Instruments Osmometer. Microbiology: Set-ups-Throat cultures, Urines, Stools, etc. Read and result preliminary gram stains for Spinal fluids and Blood Cultures. KOH gram stains, rapid tests for strep A, flu, RSV, and trichomonas. Blood Bank: (Since September 2019) Type and Screens, DATs, and antibody panels by Gel Method, preparing units and partial units, irradiating units, issuing blood products, and ordering blood products.
