Systems Engineer (Capstone Project), Glaukos, San Clemente, CA Sept – May 2020

• Enhanced fatigue testing process for new product development and reduced time needed to test product iterations.

• Developed a contact force system that can be moved into position, apply, & measure force using C++ to periorbital simulator.

• Conceived a system to collect data with an accuracy of 99% from the load cell using an ADC to an Arduino, and a DAQ system for captured data.

• Computed finite element analysis simulation on test fixture to validate structural stability of material and design choices. R&D Controls Engineering Intern, Philips Respironics, Carlsbad, CA Jun – Aug 2019

• Reduced test process time from four hours to thirty-minutes by enabling test procedures to be completed using a program with a simplified UI.

• Facilitated multiple design reviews soliciting feedback and offering insight into design process to meet requirements.

• Collaborated with test engineers to gage usability requirements ensuring compatibility of test fixture with current workflow.

• Developed code for automated actuator controller using LabVIEW graphical programming environment. Undergraduate Research Assistant, University of San Diego, San Diego, CA Sept – May 2019

• Enabled more student engagement with the topics of tension and compression and allowed for a greater understanding.

• Conceptualized learning aid that provides a physical representation of tension and compression in a truss system.

• Drafted components for learning aid in Solidworks and produced parts using Ultimaker 2+ 3D printers.

• Implemented learning aid in lower division engineering statics course and integrated with instructor lesson plan. Manufacturing Engineering Intern, Senior Aerospace Jet Products, San Diego, CA May – Aug 2018

• Integrated tools into organized ERP program that manages, tracks, and allows for accountability of tools.

• Coordinated with manufacturing engineering department by improving and implementing a new workflow system.

• Strategically analyzed tool storage patterns and developed identification and serialization system for inventory.

• Modified past tool designs using Solidworks to aid in the production of engine mounting solutions. PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Wobbler Engine Sept – Dec 2018

• Fabricated the flywheel, base plate, valve plate, crank disk, cylinder, piston, and crankshaft using a lathe, mill, and drill press.

• Created detailed operations sheets for the fabrication of the listed components above.

• Assembled and tested the wobbler engine to run on air with a result of a minimum air input of 2.3 psi, leading to a result of 3rd out of 24 entries.

Baja Society of Automotive Engineers Sept – May 2018

• Diagnosed failure of past chassis and discovered issue with load being bore by rear trailing arms and reported findings to team.

• Adapted engine dynamometer to enable testing of drivetrain to improve CVT to ensure optimum drivetrain operation. Emergency Response Vehicle Project Sept – Dec 2016

• Designed chassis of emergency response vehicle on Solidworks to be made of low-cost wooden sheets that were laser cut.

• Implemented C++ code onto Raspberry Pi that allowed for operation of the vehicle to move to a set destination & drop payload.

• Devised steering capabilities by using Raspberry Pi to send a controlled amount of power sent to each individual motor. LEADERSHIP & PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS

Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity, Corresponding Secretary Sept 2016 – 2020 American Society of Mechanical Engineers, (ASME) Member Sept 2016 – 2020 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Member Sept 2016 – 2020
