During my 36 year career, I have managed a wide variety of healthcare, commercial and civil projects from small renovations to free standing facilities. I have successfully managed small teams to a Studio of 15 employees on multiple projects and working from Marketing through Construction Administration on projects I am assigned.

I am a highly motivated professional who brings strong technical, management and leadership skills to every project. February 2014 – April 2020 HKS, Inc., Dallas & Fort Worth, TX

Senior Project Manager/Vice President

After leaving the closed office of Wingler and Sharp, I worked in the Dallas

office of HKS providing CA services on the Carl R. Darnall Hospital at Foot Hood, Texas.

Relocated to the Fort Worth Office where I was Project Manager and Construction Manager responsible for all aspects of project delivery, financial tracking and reporting, Client Relations and Team management on the following Projects.

HKS downsized due to Covid-19.

$15,000,000.00 St. Bernards Medical Center, Oncology Clinic Jonesboro, Arkansas. Renovation of 38,000 s.f. of two floors of an existing building into an Oncology Clinic of 24 exam rooms; 24 infusion bays 3 Nurse Stations, Reception and Support Spaces.

4 Floor; 275,000 s.f. $85,000,000.00 St. Bernards Medical Center Surgery and ICU Tower. Includes: 16 ORs; 48 ICU rooms; 11 Step Down rooms; Central Plant; Soiled and Clean Processing; Patient Intake; 7 elevators; 2 Floor Main Lobby; Support Space and connection to the existing Hospital.

3 Floor, $18,000,000.00 renovation, 115,000 s.f. of an abandoned shell building into UT Southwestern Moncrief Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Joint Venture with Kaim Associates. HKS redesigned the exterior of the building to match UT Southwestern brand with the Moncrief Cancer Center ( designed by HKS) in Fort Worth.

$15,000,000.00, 25,000 s.f. Como Community Center for the Como Neighborhood in Fort Worth, Texas. Includes Gym designed to High School floor area requirements; Senior Center; Fitness Center; Recreation Space; Multi-Purpose Rooms; Teaching Kitchen and Support Spaces.

April 2011 – December 2013 Wingler & Sharp, Architects & Planners, Inc. Wichita Falls, TX

Senior Archtiect / Vice President

After leaving the Middle East, I worked at Wingler and Sharp on Joint Venture Projects with HKS until the wife of the deceased Partner (Allen Sharp) closed the firm December 2013. Relocated to HKS Dallas.

Responsible for Project management/Construction management for the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center Replacment at Fort Hood, Texas. Wingler & Sharp, in a joint venture with HKS Inc., was responsible for the finishout of approximately 469,000 square feet of the three Clinic buildings associated with the Hospital. The project is developed in Revit and includes BIM features.

Project Manager for the Fort Knox Ambulatory Health Clinic, Fort Knox, Kentucky. In a joint venture with HKS, Inc., Wingler and Sharp was responsible for developing two of the four Clinic buildings and Medical Mall. Wingler & Sharp developed a majority of the medical equipment using BIM requirements as set forth in the DoD Military Health System Minimum BIM Standards. (The BIM standards require room and equipment parameters; RPIE parameters and GUIDs for each piece of equipment for seperate validation checks.) The documents were developed to the 35% level and turned over to USACE for further development by the next D/B team.

As Vice President, responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Firm. I was responsible for: Marketing- developing responses to solicitations from USACE for new projects; maintaining existing consultant relationships and developing new consultant and D/B relationships. Financial Management- negotiating fees with USACE project managers for new Task Orders on an existing IDIQ; determining fees for various MODs on existing projects; developing monthly/quarterly fee projections for the Owner of Wingler & Sharp; negotiating and resolving fee issues with our JV partner. Staff Development- managing day-to-day staffing on all projects under development in the Firm; managing staff personnel issues; mediating disputes between staff members; on projects where I had not been project manager, assisting project architects on issues arising out of Construction Administration.

2010 – April 2011 Allen & Shariff Corporation, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Upon leaving SBL, relocated to the UAE. Chose to return to the US to support

my ( now) paraplegic daughter through intensive spinal surgery and rehab.

Responsbile for all architectural aspects of project delivery as Owner’s Representative for SEHA, branch of Abu Dhabi Government responsible for Healthcare projects, on the replacement Al Mafraq Hospital. $1.1 Billion (USD), 3.2 million s.f., 750 beds. Also responsible for 21,000 s.f. Al Mafraq Dialysis Clinic and the Long Term Care Clinic. Responsible for coordinating with and monitoring the work produced by the consultant A/E firm; code compliance, technical quality of drawings and specifications, medical equipment coordination, scheduling and construction administration.

2001 – 2009 Sterling Barnett Little, Inc. Arlington, TX

SBL downsized in the Great Recession.

Responsible for all aspects of project delivery from Schematic Design through project closeout on assigned projects. Responsible for seeking additional work from existing clients. Responsible for client support, financial progress reporting, scheduling, staff assignments on projects, technical development of documentation and specifications writing. Responsible for negotiating fees with clients, and consultants. Developed Owner and Consultant Agreements. Resonsible for Construction Administration on the large complex projects assigned to me.

Member of Quality Assurance Team, helped develop project deliverables schedule for consultants as a measurable system.

Directed the work of 10 employees on all aspects of healthcare project delivery within the Studio. Responsible for seeking additional work through existing clients and marketing to potential clients. Responsible for Construction Administration on projects in the Studio.
