Last Call Ruby on Rails, ReactJS, SQL Live Site Github Last Call is a social networking app for beer enthusiasts, inspired by Untappd.
● Utilized RESTful API using Ruby on Rails to incorporate multiple CRUD operations to allow users to create, update, and destroy any beers, or breweries created.
● Implemented custom back and front end user authentication by combining Rails conventions such as BCrypt, Active Record, and customized React-Router high order components, alongside cookies to create logins that persist across sessions.
● Leveraged Amazon Web Services S3 (AWS) to allow users to upload pictures of beers, breweries, or themselves for their profile picture. Advantages of AWS over local storage include quicker access to files to minimize load times, and storage space is not a concern.
Where To Feast MongoDB, Express, ReactJS, Node Live Site Github Where To Feast is an interactive app designed for groups of indecisive people who cannot agree on where to eat.
● Worked as the frontend developer with a team of four software engineers to create this responsive app. Maintained proper git workflow directed by the team lead, as well as being responsible for our own branch and making pull requests.
● Designed a custom form component that integrates with the Google Maps API to identify and select a restaurant in the user's area based on the criteria they input.
● Utilized websockets to allow multiple people to join a single session and make decisions together using simultaneous form input. Monster Card Battle JavaScript Live Site Github
Card Battle is a gothic-themed card game where the player must use their cards to defeat the opponent’s cards, and get their health points to zero.
● Utilized pure JavaScript and DOM manipulation, as well as custom algorithms to create a game board, generate a deck of cards, and game logic.
● Designed a battle system using Object Oriented Programming principles, allowing for keeping the code DRY, better design, and code maintenance.
