1) Foxconn – Competition Team Technology India Pvt Ltd, Chennai, India Duration: From October 2017 till now
Designation: Junior Engineer
Department: Production – Industrial Engineering
Challenged with increasing product quality, improving process flow thereby increasing productivity & efficiency.
Develop, evaluate, document and advance manufacturing methods and processes through Lean Techniques and Kaizen Events.
Analyse and reengineer production layouts, designing and implementing efficiency & quality improvement projects across production lines.
Provide on-going production support and troubleshooting. Selected Contributions:
Reduced main-board damage or SMLD (Standard Main Line Defects) caused by screwing process (resistor being hit by screw gun) – Designed screw masking jig for all models which prevents the screw bit from hitting the resistor/ any component on main board.
NMI – New Model Introduction – Fixing process layout & head count, Line Balancing & Standard time calculation, Jigs & Fixtures design, FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), Risk Analysis, Pallet Design & Line Configuration.
Improved packing layout by implementing “Single piece flow” & balancing the packing processes accordingly with respect to the desired tact time thereby improving the over- all productivity & efficiency of packing operators from 65% to 85%.
NLI – New Line Introduction – Layout design, Defining the dimensions of the conveyor, Pallet design according to TV model, Defining number of stations required, etc. Projects:
Mezzanine Operation for Final Assembly (Old Plant - 2018) – Designed layout with optimal space consumed due to space restriction at the Old CTTI Plant thereby meeting the business demand with restricted space for operations.
New Plant Construction & Implementations (New Plant - 2019) – Designed & implemented the layout for Production shop floor (8 Lines), Raw-Material warehouse & Kitting, FG Warehouse & offices, Vendor Management & negotiation for civil work & office construction, Grounding & ESD Implementations – ESD tiles, Suggested & implemented dedicated grounding for Man, Equipment, Body Earth & Tiles, Improved pallet design meeting the ESD specifications, etc.
Mezzanine Operation for Packing materials (New Plant - 2019) – Carton preparation moved to mezzanine along with the packing materials like lower & upper cushions, MRP label, BEE label, Protection bag. This has improved the 5S in shop floor near the packing area thereby creating more free space. Carton being fed on ramp (gravity chute) from mezzanine to shop floor. Reduction of one man-power per line done in this process. 2) TI Cycles, Tube Investments of India, Ambattur, Chennai, India Duration: From August 2016 till October 2017
