Professional Development

Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Training (December 2016 – April 2017) I received a three-month training course from Abu Dhabi university knowledge group. The focus of the sessions was how to build an effective school self-evaluation form (SEF), school development plan (SDP), and how to reflect these documents in your school policies, procedures and departments’ action plans. The training program also included ADEC’s six standards of inspection and how to detect the progress of each.

At the same time, our school teachers and middle leaders were receiving a training course from Abu Dhabi university knowledge group that included 18 hours of workshops, individualized co-planning and co-teaching. SSAT® HOD Training Course (January – March 2016)

The course was about the UAE School Inspection Framework 2015 – 2016. The training sessions include class observation procedures, self-evaluation and improvement planning, classroom management, differentiated instructions, active learning, 21st-century skills, innovation and creativity in education, international benchmarking and inspection standards as well as assessment and lesson plans’ evaluation.

AdvancED® Global Training, Dubai: (November 17th 2013) All the training workshops focused on AdvancED International Standards for Quality Schools, AdvancED Accreditation Protocol for Schools, Internal Review (Self-Assessment), and External Review. Besides, workshops included an overview of the Student Performance Results and the New AdvancED Perception Surveys.

JOB HISTORY:

Modern Private School (Abu Dhabi) (Sept 2016 – till now) Modern Private School is an inspiring educational environment. My responsibility here as the school development head is to formulate the school development priorities, and make sure that all the HoDs are following the same standards of performance for consistency considerations, and to help them tackle their everyday issues. I used to give PD training sessions for both, HoDs and teachers. These sessions include data analysis, action planning, attainment benchmark, AFL, 21st-century skills, effective questioning, differentiation, classroom management skills, and technology in education.

Major Achievement: Four months after joining MPS, the school got a higher band in ADEK inspection than the last inspection. We went one-step forward towards an “A” band in the next inspection.

International Academic School (Abu Dhabi) (Sept 2015 – Sept 2016) International Academic School is a private school that delivers the American Diploma. I work as a head of the English department. My role included teaching higher grades and following up the teachers' performance. I also follow the teachers' development plans. This task includes connecting teachers to the professional way of using technology as a part of the 21st-century skills, along with implementing ADEC Framework, the United Arab Emirates School Inspection Framework (2015-2016), on my department staff.

Major Achievement: ADEK inspection committee, in their inspection report, included many inspiring practices that they saw when they visited my English team. Al Worood Academy Private School (Abu Dhabi) (Sept 2013 – Sept 2015) Al Worood Academy is a private school that teaches the American curriculum as well as the British IGCSE curriculum. I worked as the Head of the English Department (HOD) for Cycle 2. My role includes teaching English for grades 10 and 11 (High School).

Major Achievement: I helped the school enhance the teaching process with the latest innovations in the technology field at that time like E-beam and Edmodo. These practices brought the school students closer to the age of technology. Al Ma’ali International School (Abu Dhabi): (September 2010 – September 2013) Al Ma’ali international is an educational institute that offers the American curriculum for all grades. My role there was to teach English for grades 8, 9 and 10 and to put the final exam for all of them accordingly. Major Achievement: I put a successful intervention plan to support the struggling students in my classes so most of them reached a satisfactory level in English.

Academy of Reserve Officers (Egypt): (July 2002- June 2005) The Academy of Reserve Officers is one of the military organizations of the Egyptian army. I worked there as a head of the English department (HOD). The department was responsible for teaching the American military English to 3000 of the cadets, lieutenants, first lieutenants and captains. My role was to schedule, supervise and share giving lectures. At the end of each academic year, the department is responsible for delivering and correcting the final exams. Major Achievement: Three months after I joined the academy, I was given the leadership of a company instead of a platoon.

I designed a training program for lieutenants, first lieutenants, and captains. Future Youth Academy (Egypt): (November 2007 – February 2009) Future Youth Academy is a member of the international "Cisco Networking Academies". I worked as a Curriculum Lead (CL) for the academy. My role was to monitor the existing courses and to release new courses as needed to ensure the quality assurance plan of the academy.

Major Achievement: At the beginning, the academy was established to be a local foundation. After one year, we were able to join Cisco Networking Academies and to be one of the international academies that offer more sophisticated courses. Page 5 of 7

Bani Hilal Public school (Egypt): (September 2005- September 2008) Bani Hilal is a governmental school that cares for the fundamental phase. My role was to teach English for grades 4, 5, and 6.

Major Achievement: Creating a sincere friendship between the students and strengthen the relationship between them and their local community. Shuaa Cultural Institute (Abu Dhabi): (July 2009 – September 2010) Shuaa Cultural Institute is a private organization that works in the field of language science. I worked as an instructor of both IELTS preparation courses and general courses such as New Headway and Interchange. My role there was to help the non-Arab learners obtain the international certificates. Major Achievement: Expanding the institute activity to include teaching English for some of the outer multinational companies like Arabian Power Company (ITM O&M).

Voluntary Work:

1) Establishing a charity foundation:

On January 24th 2008, I established the Future Youth Foundation

(FYF). It is a charity and non-profit organization that offers English and IT courses for free. Its main aim is to help prepare the youth of our city meet the challenges of the 21st century. It started to teach some elementary courses and gradually improved until it became one of the international cisco networking academies. Now, it offers many international certificates like ICDL, IC3, CISCO and IELTS.

2) Participating in international and national festivals and events: I participate every year in the international and local activities, parades for different occasions like the Earth Day (April 22), Teacher’s Day (October 5) and International Volunteer Day (December 5).
