Elementary instructors manage a variety of tasks daily. Each day educators plan to the minute, and each day something happens to change those plans. Educators are experts at adapting to those changes, and still accomplishing the tasks that were planned for the day. This feat is also accomplished while showing empathy and patience to students, co-workers, and parents/guardians. It is imperative that teachers forge ahead and hide frustrations for an efficient outcome for students. This takes a great deal of self-control and self-discipline. Educators are skilled in talking with parents/guardians about difficult subjects involving their children. Often parents blame teachers for behaviors their children are demonstrating. It is the educator’s job to be firm, but kind and help families through difficult situations so they can grow and learn. Skills from an experienced educator can be beneficial in many situations.
