Report to Mine Manager. Responsible for mine design and scheduling. Attend production meetings, giving necessary advices and instructions to the Mine Superintendent and Mine Supervisors to do their job efficiently. Develop, evaluate, and present weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual mine plans.
Ensure mine production targets, for both Ore and Waste, are maintained at scheduled levels of production. Review bench plans and dig plans to ensure that they are up to date, and the production staff have sufficient information to mine in an efficient manner. Ensure the mining operations are optimised for efficient grade control, fragmentation and ease of excavation. Work alongside the Geological department to optimise grade control and minimise dilution, through accurate mine designs and plans. Develop and implement blast masters, individual drilling plans and ensure quality control standards are maintained in drill and blast operations (Optimum fragmentation is achieved and floors are kept levelled).
Have more than 6 years experience on open cast copper mines. My core skills are - mine surveying, mine operational processes, mine planning, production, commercial management and blasting. Have a high degree of mining engineering awareness and the ability to plan and develop long term mine plans (Block model preparation, effective resource depletion optimization and strategy, mining designs, production scheduling and related infrastructure movement scheduling). I have strong SHEQ leadership skills coupled with a sound knowledge of the Mining and Safety Acts, Regulations and Codes.

Reported to the Senior Mining Production Engineer and responsible of leading and supervising the day to day’s activities and operations to ensure schedule and production targets were met. Developed, evaluated, and presented weekly mine plans that encompassed a two week period. Designed blast patterns to maximise operational efficiency, whilst ensuring strict parameters were adhered too around blast vibrations, fly-rocks, and fragmentation. Provided monthly reconciliation reports and presentations of plan vs actual performance for the mine operations. Optimised mining sequences, pit designs, and dump designs to maximise the productivity levels whilst up holding geotechnical and other safety guidelines. Undertaking continuous improvement projects related to mining or maintenance activities as directed;
Achievements: I have successfully designed strategies to improve teamwork and communications between members of projects teams (planning, drill and blast, dewatering, maintenance, plant etc). I bring not only proactive and creative strategies, but also, a general passion for innovation into planning and operations procedures for the mine.
